It's a 5% tax cut on VAT for electricity only. Over 12 months it will save the average household £45 (£0.87/week).

However with it only being a temporary measure until the end of the tax year, so for another 7 months, its hardly a 'messiah' movement, more-so a movement to appear like you're working harder for the British people, when in actual fact £0.87/day or £3.75/month isn't that great, especially with it being temporary.
