@jwes_wildcats and @PCSSTN Extended Learning Programs Agriculture Lab which provides for exploration of STEAM in a garden- & forest-based learning experience
On March 23, our second grade students participated in National Ag Day, listening to the National Ag Book of the Year read aloud with @FBITN Women and TTU Delta Tau Alpha and making butter.
We appreciate Carson Evans for making @JWESAgLab the focus of his Eagle Scout project with Troop 170, providing two different heights of tables for @JWES_Wildcats students to work with horticulture in the greenhouse.
Thank you to the Putnam County Soil Conservation Office for teaching JWES third graders how to make homemade butter! We enjoyed the lesson and the afternoon snack! #agliteracyweek@JWES_Wildcats
JWES third graders worked hard in the @JWESAgLab today! They planted sunflower seeds, peas, and lettuce, pulled weeds, watered the strawberry and blueberry plants, and, of course, had fun exploring! @JWES_Wildcats
Our STEM club enjoyed being joined by @TTU_AG students to learn more about potatoes (and French fries) and continued preparation for planting in raised beds.
3rd & 4th grade LEAPS kiddos planted seeds on #plantaseedday and then made predictions about what would sprout first. Carrots? Radish? Sweet Peas? What’s your guess? @JWES_Wildcats @JWESAgLab
Thank you to @tnffa PLOW (Passing Literacy OnWard) for sending our friends from Cookeville @ChickfilA and @cookevilleffa to visit our Kindergarten classes and provide them with great books! @FBITN Ag in the Classroom @TNMAGICMOMENTS
