@BobHarig Bob, when the governing bodies present stats on distance gains, ball carry, etc., do they ever provide info on the avg. height and weight change on Tour in the past 20-30 years? Because what a pro golfer looks like now bears no resemblance to the past.
@wjcarter Bill, my only counter argument would be the Robin/Bette show was a once in a lifetime rocket. We needed the final show to get over what had happened the night before. And the final night was, appropriately enough, just Johnny.
@Sean_Zak Don’t ball knowers want a course and set up that identities the best golfers? Because this isn’t that and exhibit A for the prosecution is the leaderboard.
@hwinkler4real Henry, do you remember which scene you shot first with Michael? His entrance into your office was an all timer. What were you thinking as you watched him in action?
@NUCLRGOLF@GolfweekNichols@NellyLegion The LPGA mystifyingly clings to being treated like a 4th rate product by the networks. Chart a new streaming course and do something progressive rather than one that is so far out of touch.
@dougferguson405@genowoj It’s also more than a little perplexing that the ‘01 doesn’t get more attention and celebration. It’s arguably the most historic of any Masters wins. He carried that burden for 8 months and still delivered.
@RobertLusetich I miss a lot of the old guard. Every time I hear Oosty’s voice on an old broadcast, it brings a smile. Also, the two Bob’s (Murphy and Rosburg) and, of course, Uncle Verne.
@RobertLusetich Robert, you’re a wise man. In this the year of ‘86 and ‘96 anniversaries, why isn’t “As Grand As It Gets” getting more attention? It’s arguably the most historic Masters win of all time. But of all of TW’s wins at Augusta it’s almost the forgotten one compared to 97, 19 and 05.
@LouStagner Data collection is your lane. It probably makes sense to stay there rather than hero move opinions. They certainly don’t enlighten or drive any conversation forward.
@GolfweekNichols All valid points, Beth Ann. What I will never understand is why the LPGA leadership remains stuck in another century when it comes to broadcast rights. Women’s golf is about youth. And where are the youth? Not watching TV. Go to YouTube and be live rather than an afterthought.
