🚧 Sadly we were too late to save the former Body Shop headquarters in Littlehampton, West Sussex.
Designed in a Japanese pagoda style by architects Michael Cook Associates (1990), it contained wildly themed interiors, was built from sustainably sourced timber, and was reputedly the first office in Britain to have a purpose-built creche.
A perfect candidate for reuse, demolition is already under way to create a retail village.

@Portaspeciosa@lukejsherlock@SallyBadham@JaneEAppleton@CathyRLowe@SimoninSuffolk Other small effigies like this I know of commemorate the young (Haccombe, Devon good example, or more famously William of Windsor &Blanche at Westminster Abbey)
Youlgreave with those dates a puzzle. Pevsner convinced it was because he was young,so do they think different Thomas?
@LoveOfGates many many fine examples in Oxford, as would be expected
I love the delicate gates of a similar date at Trinity (by Thomas Robinson), but they are somewhat overshadowed by the enormous baroque gatepiers!
On holiday in York & family miffed as to why I am so *fixated* on having lunch specifically at ASK Italian
No real reason of course, but as an aside it happens to be in the Assembly Rooms designed by Lord Burlington - built 1730s
(received the all knowing look from my wife…)
