We’re building a safer future one ride at a time, and I’m thrilled to share that we've just surpassed 100k paid trips per week! Congratulations to the entire @Waymo team on this incredible milestone, and thank you to our riders who make this journey possible.
@brianwilt@docentdemagogue We’re working on distilling to a honk-to-honk model that needs nothing but a lapel mic duct taped to a TI-83 to run. Nothing but honks, all the way down.
We’ve avoided a meaningful number of injuries over @Waymo’s 10M+ rider-only miles. Sometimes a specific instance can be more eye-opening than the stats. We’re not perfect, but our driver never gets distracted and can react faster than a human.

Our safe and deliberate approach to scaling the Waymo Driver is gaining traction, as we’re now serving more than 50,000 paid trips every week across three major cities. Thank you to our riders for trusting us to get you to your destinations safely and reliably.
We’re grateful to the @californiapuc for this vote of confidence in our operations, which paves the way for the deployment of our commercial Waymo One service in LA and the SF Peninsula.
We 👀 you, SF! Download the Waymo One app and we’ll reach out when you’re up next! For those visiting SF, give us a heads up via DM and we may surprise you with special access while you’re in town. 🤖🚘🌉🎉

When comparing the safety performance of the Waymo Driver and human drivers based on data collected through August 1, 2023, bodily injury claims frequency was reduced by 100% and damage claims frequency was reduced by 76%—both differences are statistically significant.
Holy shit, dude on a scooter buzzed by my Waymo as I was getting out. I normally look behind me as I open a door, but there was a Tesla parked illegally blocking my view.
As I pulled, Waymo said “Scooter approaching,” so I stopped half a second before he whizzed by safely. 😅
1/ Some San Franciscans may have already noticed @Waymo cars with empty driver’s seats. Now it’s official: we’ve started fully autonomous operations in SF! https://t.co/8fvv3JL1xp
My project shipped!!! I'm insanely proud of the team for delivering an absolutely stellar Driver to the city I call home. Leading our driving behavior efforts has been the most fulfilling project of my career. I can't wait for what comes next ☺️
We’re taking the next step in our journey—both in San Francisco and in Phoenix. Last week, our employees began taking fully autonomous rides in the City by the Bay, and soon we’ll be expanding our Waymo One Trusted Tester program into Downtown Phoenix. https://t.co/oSjVNFQmn0
