3rdQ learning has included Snap Circuits, Dash World Domination, gravity marble runs, OSMO, MakeyMakey, & so much more. Thank you PTA & JYJ families for supporting the Tech/STEAM Lab ❤️
A few highlights from Q2 w/K-2 students. Collaborative building challenges, Turkey hideouts, coding, snow (states of matter), & lots more. @JYJoyner
We wrapped up Q1 with centers. Ss loved having choices for learning. Some choices included magnet mazes, Monster Trouble obstacle courses, & BreakOut Edu’s. Collaborating & creating help our brains grow & develop.
Pumpkin Pulley Challenge. What was our problem? 4th & 5th Grade Ss needed to design & build a pulley to lift a pumpkin. Check out our designs that included a lot of testing & improving :-)
Students have been working hard in Technology. They have worked together to solve challenges both online & offline. We are also thankful for some awesome donations this week. ❤️ Have a great weekend JYJ families.

This week Technology TEAMS used the scientific method to learn more about force & momentum. We wanted to see what happens when you release a wrecking ball from different heights. So fun! @JYJoyner
We have spent the first few weeks building community & focusing on our IB learner profile-Thinkers. This week we met Iggy Peck the Architect, and received an exciting donation from one of our JYJ families. It’s a great day to be at the JYJ! ❤️ @JYJoyner
STEAMing this week with The Three Billy Goats Bridge Challenge. Students used the engineering design process & collaboration to solve a tricky problem. @JYJoyner
Thank you @pta_joyner and parent volunteers for giving us the gift of time today! I am so thankful for all of you and everything you do for our school♥️
Did someone say magnets! Ss are loving exploring with magnets this week. We have floating ghost, mazes, & lots of imagination happening in technology this week.
Last week 3rd-5th Ss could choose to make a robot hand with phalanges, metacarpals, & tendons. I think they did an awesome job (even if there might be a few missing bones 🫣).
