As a Christian, the cross is just a symbol. It is not the cross that is sacred, it is He who was raised up on the cross.

But to the deeper point, is it wrong to make money using Christian branding? The 3rd commandment says not to take the Lord's name in vain. Many of us today think it means not to use it in a sentence poorly. But–at least the way I understand it–it's more akin to bearing the banner of God poorly. And in that light, it's about the heart of the developers who build the tool and the choices they make as they walk that path out.

Some are wolves in sheep's clothing. Others a trying to be the bannerman of God for good purposes.

Wow that is a Looong article. I have been reading for a half hour and am eot near the end. Great response. Challenged by it and will have to take time to digest it. I'll probably order original copies of his books to get the whole point and consider my position further. I find myself agreeing and disagreeing but without the ability to articulate why

My property taxes are already too high, and the government is not good a reducing costs. It just sepnds more and more.

If we set the precedent to tax landmass without also reverting building valuation taxes, my tax bill will double and my community will get less value while the money is sent elsewhere.

I would rather dominos fix my roads and put ads on the fixed potholes and not pay for "services" that I disagree with or don't benefit my community.
