I don’t care what anyone has done anywhere, if you have not done at Man United, then it’s irrelevant to me what you’ve done before.
LVG, Jose, Ten Hag, even talentless Amorim, all these guys did way better than anything Iraola or Naglesmann has done in their coaching careers, they got here and still couldn’t get us the desired outcomes.
Again, I don’t care what you’ve done prior to United, can you do it here? Both for players and managers. It’s what you do here that counts.
Which brings me to what Carrick has done here. During his first stint at United interim, he had tough games and didn’t lose any, won Arsenal, Villarreal away and drew Chelsea, that’s 2 wins and a draw in tough games.
His second shot at the job, he was met with incredibly tough fixtures, playing against the 2 best teams in the league, he came in, played city off the park at Old Trafford, then beat Arsenal at the stadium they’ve not lost all season prior to that game.
What Carrick did at Middlesbrough is none of my business, I can easily judge him on what he’s doing here at United with the players available to him.. He’s delivered his polling unit twice and to me that’s counts more than anything you’ve done anywhere else.
2+1 Carrick, let’s get to work.
