One reason I'm for DC statehood: The growth in size of the republic--and our distinctive manner of growth, admitting states with equal status--has always been a sign of our vigor. 60 years at 50 states is enough. Time for DC, Puerto Rico, Cuba (as soon as it's free), 1 or 2 more?
@JohnFromCT Wasn’t really thinking about US History 3 having enough content to teach a class yet on it yet, just a development in US history that indicated a general “change” from US history 2 to the current phase of American history we’re in now.
Most high school/college US history courses divide American history into 2 parts, usually split at the end of reconstruction in 1877. It has been this way for decades.
If it were to change into 3 parts, where would US History 3 begin?
(Reply if you think it’s something else)
@tbooth_98@NickBryantNY Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll be sure to read it. Based off of the premise I think that’s ultimately one of the biggest questions US History 3 should answer.
JUST IN - Trump establishes the Office of the Former President.
"The Office will be responsible for managing President Trump's correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities."
Pure genius.
The bravery of doing this during your last day in office so you don’t have to take any actual action against it and leave it entirely up to the next administration really is admirable.

BREAKING: U.S. becomes first country in world to accuse China of committing 1) crimes against humanity and 2) genocide against the Uighurs in Xinjiang and other minorities. @StateDept@SecPompeo makes determination on his last full day in office. Huge. @CBSNews is here. 🇨🇳
