Today's poster session was great and I'm super glad for everyone who stopped by! If you weren't able to make it and still want to check out mine and Betsy's work, you can find the paper at: https://t.co/xCiJJWGrch
There's still time to make it to @J_Rechsteiner and my poster at #ICPhS2023 this afternoon! Jack is graduating with an MA this month - go say hi!

This is today! Come see the talented NSF-REU students that @betsysneller, @J_Rechsteiner, @scheunenherz and I have been mentoring this summer. Look for posters 202 to 205 in Arts and Humanities. Great analyses of pitch, discourse markers, quotatives, um/uh in @mi_diaries data.
“Have you ever used a word that someone older than you didn’t know?” @J_Rechsteiner setting up participants for an @mi_diaries activity at MSU Grandparents University today.
@AidanMalanoski There's no deadline set yet, but based on the amount of submissions so far, you should still be able to participate later this month. Thank you for asking!
Hi! I'm doing a linguistic study at MSU that's looking to recruit more nonbinary English speakers (ages 18-35) as participants. The study is online and takes ~15 mins. Eligible participants who complete the study will be paid $5.

@jkmttr Gonna throw in a vote for Google Calendar, but another BIG help for me managing life w/ ADD has been Google Keep. I've got it as a little widget on my phone so I can just open it up, add smthn like "do laundry", then set a reminder alarm on it to go off when I'm done with work
@kirbyconrod I am! 18 to 35 was a demog category we were short on, but the study is currently open to any nonbinary adults that are native US English speakers. Thank you for asking!
Looking forward to this morning's #PLC46 sociolinguistics session! Check out @J_Rechsteiner and my talk at 10:00 - "The effects of topic and part of speech on nonbinary speakers' use of (ING)"
Furkioti and Rechsteiner’s research showcased how a sociolinguistic research study can be developed into a brand through defining brand statements, strategy, visual identity, and applications of these elements to social media and non-profit organizations.

Every month or two, I think I should use Twitter more and then I hyperfocus on it for 3+ hours before logging off for another month or two at which point the cycle starts all over again
