Jeongyeon found fame as the lead vocalist of the
chart-topping, record-breaking, history-making Girl Group TWICE, the best-selling K-Pop Girl Group of All Time! Jeongyeon has an amazing voice and is also a great dancer and all-round entertainer! She is also a very talented songwriter and is credited on 7 of TWICE's songs!

Jeongyeon began her career, taking aerobics classes when she was young, and soon developed an interest in singing and dancing! She joined JYP Entertainment in March, 2010, after passing an audition, and trained for 5 years, appearing on the TV reality Sixteen, where the 9 members of TWICE were chosen. She officially debuted as a member of the group with the release of their 1st EP, 'The Story Begins' and its lead single "Like Ooh-Ahh". Jeongyeon co-hosted with her sister the popular TV programme 'Inkigayo' from July 2016 to January 2017, and they both won the Newcomer Award at the 2016 SBS Entertainment Awards. In Gallup Korea's annual music poll, Jeongyeon was voted one of the top 20 most popular idols in S.Korea for 4 consecutive years from 2016 to 2019 with Nayeon.

Jeongyeon has also won several awards as a member of TWICE including 18 MAMA Awards, 12 Golden Disc Awards, 10 Soribada Best K-Music Awards, 9 Japan Gold Disc Awards, 9 Asia Artist Awards, 7 Circle Chart Music Awards, 7 Seoul Music Awards, 5 Melon Music Awards, 5 Genie Music Awards, 4 Fact Music Awards and a Hanteo Music award ! TWICE has received 3 MTV Europe Music Awards nominations and two MTV Video Music Awards nominations. At the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards, the group won Best Female Group for the 4th time, breaking the record for the girl group with most wins in the category! In 2021, TWICE's 10th EP, 'Taste of Love', hit #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, becoming the first EP by a girl group to reach this Milestone. It was also the first EP from a girl group to enter the top 10 of the Billboard 200! On March 1, 2023, Twice was awarded the Breakthrough Artist at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music held in Los Angeles, marking the first time a female K-Pop group has ever won the award! Also in 2017, the group received a commendation awarded at the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards, hosted by the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, for their contribution to popular culture in South Korea and abroad!
