@tommyreamon eh, coach to recruit relationship is a sales pitch, not as black and white as your making it out to be. much more of a game you have to play as an athlete than you think.
California, while having the highest state population is still the most underrated recruiting state for highschool hoopers, see why. https://t.co/G78rf2lwKS
@TweetsbyCoachP@TweetsbyCoachP you seem to put a lot of players on the map with their highlight tapes, how do you suppose a player would "capture" this type of mindset/attitude for coaches to notice?
@TweetsbyCoachP Too many kids go down the "i'm not going to the nba so i'm going to quit" mindset at an early age, successful basketball career ≠ NBA and on top of that there are so much more opportunity with a student athlete life.
D1 = life changing opportunity
D2 = life changing opportunity
D3 = life changing opportunity
JUCO = life changing opportunity
NAIA = life changing opportunity
USCAA = life changing opportunity
NCCAA = life changing opportunity
Take advantage of YOUR life changing opportunity
@RyStar7_ Agreed, it seems as if everything relating towards AAU is getting more expensive, Even the water bottles! I know many friends who gave up after playing and recruiting all the way up till their senior year just to quit. (myself included).
You have to wonder if AAU with the reduction of d1 scholarships going to US high school players will continue to be this long drawn out, huge travel commitment much longer.
The way it is right now, its biggest value is money making for the people putting it on. And yeah, you can get seen, but you can get seen by coaches watching game film or HS regular season and June scholastic events too.
The AAU travel expense for kids to end up playing d3 is a tough pill to swallow and might just be what breaks the system. The top kids aren’t paying, what happens when the others figure out that the system isn’t for them?
Maybe it keeps going but there has to be a better way!!
@TweetsbyCoachP Yes, but the kids who leverage their skill with getting a college education are the ones going the farthest. You don't have to love your job to pay the bills.
@CoachHackGO With competent guards this gets blown out of the water right away lol, theres a reason this doesn't get ran at the college level. Not a bad scheme if the team is tall/athletic though.
@TweetsbyCoachP The Player who has a coaching father/mother will either be the most judged or the least at fault on the team. Parents like this are just a natural part of the game; Parents love their kids.
