@Caitlin_Fitz_ Thanks @Caitlin_Fitz_ excited to get some information out there! Hoping we can offer it to paramedics in the future as part of standard professional practice
@paramedickiwi@cherylcookie21 Unfortunately it hasn't come up in my research or others that I have reviewed. Leaving a large space for exploration and hopefully change
@paramedickiwi@cherylcookie21 I think it would be incredibly valuable too & would love to explore this more. As part of the clinical supervision community, I believe other allied health professionals within Aus/NZ are investigating the benefits, optimal frameworks, and barriers to success and implementation
@paramedickiwi@cherylcookie21 I would love chat more with anyone interested in the area or talking about what/how this might work in practice. Thank you @paramedickiwi for your interest!
@paramedickiwi@cherylcookie21 Some health districts and professions within Australia, such as social workers and mental health nurses, seek an external organisation to facilitate the group clinical supervision sessions. The supervisor is discipline trained but not an employee of the organisation.
Clinical Supervision is not about being supervised clinically. It is a framework for reflection and examination of clinical practice at a number of level of your practice. #ParaResearch21
Thank you @Buck_Reed. I feel very lucky to have had amazing support through this journey, one where at the centre of it, is the need to offer new support for paramedics that holistically addresses all the challenges an individual paramedic might come across. #ParaResearch2021
Great to hear @Jac__Willis talk about Group Clinical Supervision - a fascinating new development in supporting paramedics in their clinical practice. #ParaResearch21
@BillLord2 Apologies for the responses,as part of my Masters, I explored the experience of paramedics undertaking regular, facilitated, reflective virtual group clinical supervision. I get a tad excited π
@BillLord2 The term 'clinical supervision' itself has negative connotations, overcoming this in itself, in other professions, is difficult. Lots of barriers, but the impact it could have (based on extensive research in other health fields) on paramedic practice could be significant!
