All this to say I’m just some blakfulla on the other side of the globe and I like the offerings of pod save as someone obsessed with analysing populists, but this just felt short sighted. 5/5
Just watched #offline on @PodSaveAmerica with @jonfavs and @JerusalemDemsas - maybe this is just my blakfulla perspective but I really struggled with the lack of indigenous insight to the conversation. 🧵 1/
And to say that the conversation comes only from academics to ‘hate’ America simply ignores the fight for land back and indigenous sovereignty across the globe. 4/
@missrobinson In all honesty, I always put the liberal party last. They have the largest capacity to do something, so they need the lowest preference. And Palmer has shown he is incapable of running a successful campaign.
Every child deserves freedom. Every child deserves care. But the campaigning to raise the age asks us to settle—to accept that some kids can be thrown away while others are spared.
I refuse to make that choice. I refuse to leave any child behind.
Prisons are violent. I’ve been there. No child—no matter their age—belongs in a cage. Instead of asking which kids should be punished, we should be asking how we stop harm from happening in the first place.
I do not believe in partial liberation. We fight for all our children...
Let’s stop fighting to raise the age, and shift our focus to abolishing the cage

This is me being nitpicky but this year I want us to modify our language. Us living on Indigenous land need to call it “settler colonial Canada/USA/Australia/etc” unless we call it by its name like Aotearoa. We also need to call folks on these land settlers, colonisers (1/5)
@djrtyhands Chicago, little shop of horrors, isle of lesbos, hedwig and the angry inch, original west side story, Oliver, sweeny Todd, hairspray and grease! Lmk when you need more recommendation. Glad this came up on my fyp!
@OnstageBlog Interesting! My one question is, around this phrasing, where do aboriginal folks sit? In community we are considered Blak (or also black) and around the time hairspray is set, also experienced segregation. What are your thoughts.
Today I received the immense honour of being named NAIDOC SA’s LGBTQI Person of the Year. To be nominated a selected by my peers is a moment of true blak joy for me. #NAIDOC2024#BlakLoudProud#KaurnaYerta
