In 1822, brave Polish volunteers fought alongside Greek revolutionaries for our independence.

At the Battle of Peta, Polish heroes sacrificed their lives for the freedom of a nation that was not their own.

During World War II, Polish born hero Jerzy Iwanow Szajnowicz fought against the Nazi occupation of Greece, giving his life in the struggle for freedom.

Years later, Poland welcomed thousands of Greek refugees, offering them safety, shelter, and hope.

These sacrifices will never be forgotten.

Our nations know the pain of occupation, the courage of resistance, and the sacred value of freedom.

To our Polish brothers and sisters:

We Greeks stand with the people of Poland, because your ancestors once stood with ours.

We remember your courage.
We honor your sacrifices.
And we will never turn our backs on a people who helped us in our darkest hours.

Because we are Greeks.
We honor our history, we remember our friends, and WE DO NOT FORGET.
