@pauleholden@zarahsultana Opposed by 80 lab MPs means nothing, there are c. 400 of this lot in parliament. My view is it’s still not as hard a line as it should be. At least it’s a minor step in the right direction, even if it is pitiful
@Dibutops1874@TwisterFilm@jk_rowling It’s far more than rude. It’s deplorable. Murder or not. Celebrating the death of a woman who dedicated her life to public service, whether you liked her or not, is sickening.
@PolitlcsUK@ObserverUK 2/2: and a real Conservative Party means massively transforming the existing party. The leadership isn’t the problem, the ideology is. Kemi could lead if the foundation was more reliable. Problem is, she’s in a house built on sand, if it doesn’t change, she is bound to fall.
@PolitlcsUK@ObserverUK This is the problem. Making private decisions of this magnitude is the primary cause of people jumping to reform. I’m a Conservative, a councillor in the party no less, and even our party can see this is ridiculous at best. Reform isn’t the answer. a real Conservative Party is.
@anisafeminista @GB_has_Fallen69@TomMcDo94697667@calvinrobinson I agree with everything you say until point 4. Society would not run without an amalgamation of both men and women working in whatever their roles may be, not women’s roles alone. And that isn’t to say these roles are unimportant as they’re not.
@GB_has_Fallen69 @anisafeminista @TomMcDo94697667@calvinrobinson 3/3 the reality is, most roles in society, whether it is at work or a domestic role, can be filled by either gender. Capability and capacity and defined by skill, they’re defined by someone’s learned or ‘god given’ skill sets. With that being said, I am a fan of nuclear families.
@GB_has_Fallen69 @anisafeminista @TomMcDo94697667@calvinrobinson 2/3 for example, if men and women were to just entirely swap roles in society, particularly blue collar, nuclear families. Would you as a man be able to cope with balancing childcare, housecare, shopping, potentially homework with children, maybe even a part time job on top?
@GB_has_Fallen69 @anisafeminista @TomMcDo94697667@calvinrobinson This isn’t a great argument to be fair. The gender disparity in certain industries is almost entirely due to societal influences. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not pushing any leftist agendas as I am a Conservative Councillor, I am simply arguing a fair point 1/2
@calvinrobinson@TomMcDo94697667 He isn’t arguing for women to fill men’s roles. He is arguing for capable people to fill roles they are qualified to fill. Simple as that. Traditionally men are chefs, but women are expected to cook at home. There is a double standard already, on top of yours that is.
