🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Who Decides Harm? “I Guess… Me.”
CANBERRA — Digital Duty of Care™ applies to all online services. Except news sites. Except when it does. Sorry.
Asked what risk a news site is offering its viewers, Comrade Wells declined the premise.
Asked who defines a new serious harm, she did not. She does. On advice from the eSafety Commissar. Instruments later. Kids first.
The algorithm, she has explained, is overwhelming public institutions. The institutions have taken the feed.
This is not content. This is systems.
This is not censorship. Well, we’ve changed our position.

Labor is copying the Chinese Communist Party’s censorship playbook.
China learned long ago that you don’t need to censor every citizen, you just need to create a culture of fear and make the platforms do it for you.
These tactics have been used by authoritarian regimes across the world to gag their political opponents time and time again.
The powers will make sure social media companies feel the only option is to over-censor.
The Minister and e-Safety Commissioner get open-ended power to classify anything as harmful.
Today that’s harm to children’s safety. But tomorrow these powers will be abused to censor complaints about immigration because they harm Labor’s version of “social cohesion”.
There are some issues on social media. But this can’t be an excuse to bring in a China-style censorship regime.
Social cohesion under Labor means sit down, shut up and don’t complain.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers wakes up everyday dreading the next social media post he makes because he knows he’ll be smashed by thousands of comments calling out Labor Lies.
Minister Wells complains that Australians don’t believe her after Labor’s Lies.
Senior public servants being paid more than the Prime Minister are complaining about their embarrassing answers being shared on social media.
This is a government that hates transparency and hates being accountable to the Australian public.
Labor hates Australians having the ability to voice their disagreement on social media.
After losing a safe Labor seat in the Secret Harbour by-election, the government is desperately trying to censor the internet to keep their jobs and their grip on power.
Labor knows they can’t win the debate, so they’re changing the rules and making social media companies gag you.
One Nation says no to Labor’s censorship power-grab. Australians have the right to have their say.
Labor lost a safe seat to One Nation in Western Australia.
Instead of asking why voters abandoned them, Labor immediately blamed social media.
They clearly fear Australians talking to each other online.
They clearly fear people calling out their Labor lies.
Instead of reflecting on themselves, Labor has now moved urgent legislation so they can censor what you can see and say online.
That is the instinct of an authoritarian regime. It follows in the footsteps of Iran, China, Russia and Myanmar.
There is nothing this lying Labor government won’t do to hold onto power.
Has anyone else noticed that over the past week there’s been this coordinated push by the government in Australia and left wing media about “Le algorithm” and manosphere
They are gearing up for more social media censorship, 100%
Anthony Albanese says One Nation is “dangerous, divisive and downright dishonest”.
He says some parties will “say anything and do anything to win votes”, “bend any facts” and “peddle misinformation and disinformation”.
This clown needs to hold up a mirror to himself.
This is a Prime Minister who routinely lies to Australians. He tells people struggling to pay their mortgage, rent and grocery bills that the country is in “good shape”.
Now he wants his government to have more power over free speech.
There are genuine social problems associated with social media. But the answer is not giving a government like this the machinery to decide what is misinformation, what is dangerous and what Australians should be allowed to see, say and share.
Australia should be moving away from government censorship, not building the Orwellian machinery for it.
China does it. Iran does it. Russia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Myanmar do it.
Now Albo wants to build it here.
There is nothing this liar will not do to hold onto power.
@Asher_am6 I didn't realize these douchbags are so disruptive. If someone stuck a phone in my face I'd slap it outa their hand. This is worse than that.
