Easy to pile into England. But Australia deserve a lot of credit here. The last part of night 1 aside (that was just weird), that is how you grind a side out of it on a road in a proper Test match performance. #TheAshes#AUSvENG
Take the 2019 Ashes series out of it, Archer averages 40 in Test Cricket with the ball. Carse has no discipline, Atkinson looks like every other nondescript medium pacer they bring out, Joe Root is their best spinner. All the best lads. #TheAshes#AUSvENG
Smith probably eyed off the home Ashes series in 2025 as the ideal retirement point. Eyes look absolutely painted on and Bumrah awaits before then. It's close to over I think. #NZvAUS
Renshaw was picked over Bancroft for his performances over the last 18 months, where his "numbers stack up as well as anyone's across that time" #AUSvWI

What would people expect Cameron Bancroft to average if he was picked to open? FC average of 39 through 146 games , Test average of 26 in 10 Tests. Mid 30s maybe? Is that good, really? I like the idea of specialist openers, but he's heading a thin, thin field in that space.
@MickFloyd I reckon the day the captain let a bloke take sandpaper out onto the field is a tough one to beat. But this is basically every fear realised about a bowling captain.
