One aspect of Jalen Brunson that often gets overlooked- his academic success. He took a bevy of AP classes at SHS (his mom Sandra always made him email his teachers weeks in advance of known absences due to bball), and he graduated from Villanova in three years.
He was as successful in the classroom as he was on the court.
He is a great role model for kids today wanting to succeed in both arenas.
Brody Bumila (@brodybumila) of Bishop Feehan (MA) has been named the 2025-26 MaxPreps Male National Athlete of the Year after a remarkable year that saw the 6'9, two-sport standout excel on the court and on the mound. 🏆
The Texas commit could add a state championship to his resume this weekend📈

Congrats to Mansfield senior student-athlete Lily Roche for breaking the school record in the discus yesterday at the Meet of Champions! Her throw of 124'8 breaks a school record that had been on the books since 1987 when Donlie Wood established the record!
The Nova Knicks are, in fact, a proof in concept, an antidote, answer and solution to everything that is ailing college basketball. https://t.co/OYKSa2X5Tu
Incredibly proud of this young man.
Most will never know what he deals with on a daily basis, the pressure surrounding his situation and he just takes it head on.
Everyone brings their best against him. He’s taunted, trash talked and more and he just keeps performing for TEAM
This is a story I'll be sharing in the future. Devin, a senior and terrific young man, was a bit disappointed in where he slotted in on baseball team this year and decided on his own, to try track. Two months later -- state champion! #resilience#next#GoShamrocks!
In 2016, Villanova beat three teams in a row who were ranked #1 on the AP Poll at some point that season (Kansas, Oklahoma, UNC), to win the national championship.
That year included the entire trio. Some impressive postseason runs.
Remember: The 2018 #Villanova Wildcats won their six NCAA Tournament games by an average of 17.7 points. Which means Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges have been at the heart of two of the great postseason runs in modern basketball history.
