Janis wrote an entire post admitting Albertans pushed back, the government responded, and public town halls were announced… then somehow called that “not leadership.”

Janis, you cannot scream “they won’t listen” and then complain when they listen.

✅ Albertans raised concerns
✅ The government responded
✅ Public town halls are happening
✅ Power, water and environmental rules still apply
✅ Private projects must still satisfy regulators

And her big complaint?

The NDP held meetings first.

A company announcing an investment does not give it a free pass around Alberta law. Public input still matters and responding to concerns is exactly what responsible government should do.

If the UCP moves forward, the NDP complains.
If the UCP listens, the NDP complains.
If Alberta attracts billions in private investment and thousands of jobs, the NDP complains.

Janis ended with, “You deserve better, Alberta.”

For once, she is absolutely right.

Alberta deserves an opposition with solutions, not one that turns listening into a scandal because Danielle Smith did it.
