“We have only one goal: to devalue, to the point of ridicule, to the point of absurdity, the State that governs us. We take pleasure in sowing confusion, blurring ideas in the very minds of the saints of democracy.”
- Italo Balbo
On this day in 1940, Italo Balbo—one of the most important figures of the Italian Fascist movement—met a tragic end in plane crash. Italo Balbo was a member of the Quadrumvirate of National Fascist Party; he was Marshal of the Air Force, Minister of the Armed Forces, and Governor-General of Italian Libya, but above all, he was a fanatical revolutionary who dedicated his entire life’s energy to the cause of Fascism and Italy.
He rejected compromise and strove to fully realize these ideals. His stance should serve as a model of the perfect soldier of Fascism and the Third Position.
