@Nassreddin2002 I think this is more internal to the government, starmer v mahmood (big burnham supporter.) he breached ministerial code and more importantly, potentially undermined his direct superior. I dont think the policy itself is the major friction point tbh
This is an actual page on the White House web site. It reads like something written about a third world dictator. So embarrassing. I have not seen any branch of the federal government sink this low in my lifetime.
One councilmember brought up an unnamed neighbor who pays for six Ubers a day and would have to fork over $30 a week.
Except six Ubers a day already costs $600/wk. That’s more than my mortgage. Let’s be serious about who is really using that much rideshare.
@alanthefisher@bigseb31213 Unfortunately we were not moral leaders during the civil war and reconstruction, we voted against Lincoln both times and also against US Grant
@alanthefisher@ipatrol6010@bigseb31213 South Jersey was mostly settled by generally abolitionist Quakers and New England Puritans at that point, the vast majority of slaves were in the North especially in Bergen+Hudson County and the Perth Amboy
When I travel outside of Ukraine, I get daily intelligence updates online. This morning, I was briefed that U.S. military facilities in the Middle East and the Gulf region were photographed by Russian satellites in the interests of Iran.
On March 24th, they imaged the U.S.–UK joint military facility on Diego Garcia located in the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean. They also captured pictures of Kuwait International Airport and parts of the infrastructure of the Greater Burgan oil field. On March 25th, they took pictures of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The Shaybah oil and gas field in Saudi Arabia, İncirlik Air Base in Türkiye, and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar were all imaged on March 26th.
There are no Ukrainian facilities on this list. But who is helping whom when sanctions are lifted from an aggressor that earns daily revenue and provides intelligence for strikes against American, Middle Eastern, UK, and U.S.–UK bases and so on?
When surveillance is carried out over facilities in Ukraine, we always understand that they must be protected, since plans are in motion to destroy them – energy and water infrastructure, military facilities, and so on. Everyone knows that repeated reconnaissance indicates preparations for strikes. How can sanctions be eased if this is what the Russians are doing?
There must be pressure on the aggressor. And lifting sanctions is certainly not pressure. It looks strange. Sanctions are being lifted, while the aggressor is providing intelligence to strike facilities, including those of the countries that are discussing or have already lifted sanctions.
From my conversation with journalists (3/3).
The funeral of Father Pierre El-Rahi, Maronite parish priest of a Christian village, is celebrated today in #Lebanon, as these villages once again experience the tragedy of war. I am close to all the Lebanese people in this time of grave trial. Fr. Pierre was a true shepherd. As soon as he heard that parishioners had been wounded in a bombing, he rushed to help without hesitation. May the Lord grant that the blood he shed become a seed of peace for beloved Lebanon. #PrayTogether
🚨BREAKING: Armed men, dressed like ICE agents, were filmed in Minneapolis pulling guns on TWO U.S. citizens, while refusing to show a warrant as they made an arrest.
A video show heavily armed individuals removing someone from a house.
When bystanders ask for a warrant, none was given, and there are no clear confirmed agency identifiers beyond tactical-style clothing.
As a car attempts to drive down the street, one of the armed men approaches and pulls his gun and points it directly at the driver, who appears to be simply trying to pass through.
In a second clip, the same individual pulls his gun and points it at an anti-ICE protester, who is turned away from him.
The armed man appears to then pull the trigger multiple times.
As of now, it is unclear whether they are federal agents, or private contractors.
Until officials clearly identify who these men are and under what authority they were operating, the public is left watching armed individuals pull guns on civilians, in broad daylight, and wondering who, exactly, is responsible.
What is happening in NJ-11 tonight feels momentous. The state has long been dominated by a throwback political culture, particularly on the Democratic side, but there has been upheaval in the last few years as the party's increasingly activist/professional class base has been in revolt.
In Essex County, the biggest part of the district, having the support of party leaders was for generations practically tantamount to victory in a primary. But tonight, the Essex organization-backed candidate is running 3rd in the county -- far behind an AOC-Sanders-backed progressive insurgent, Analilia Mejia, who is currently leading district-wide and has no support from any of its county organizations.
I haven't even seen anyone note the fact that Alex Pretti was clearly filming the whole encounter on his phone and the state will make sure that we never see that footage in a million years.
One of my former research assistants was killed by ICE in Minneapolis today😢
Alex was the kindest, sweetest human and a ICU nurse with a bright future ahead of him
May his soul rest in peace and this senseless carnage stop💔
