“Growing up in Jerusalem, I was surrounded by incredible flavors, spices and food that told stories. I wanted to bring that same feeling here, not only for the local Jewish community, but for all of South Florida.”
Chef Raz Shabtai and his team celebrate as they learn that their restaurant, Mutra, earned a Michelin star.
Mutra is now, after only a year of operation, the first and only Kosher restaurant to have earned a Michelin star in the world.
Mazel Tov to everyone at Mutra!
@colincsalao@FOS This is just anecdotal, but I checked for tickets after the US open this year and a lot of tickets were sold and only available via resale. It was very challenging to find seats on the days I looked that were being directly sold by the tournament.
“What I endured lasted from the very beginning to the very end.”
Released hostage Arbel Yehud was sexually abused “almost every single day” by her Palestinian Islamic Jihad captors during her 482 days in captivity.
LISTEN. BELIEVE. SHARE.
Today is Shani Louk's 25th birthday.
Everyone remembers her as the girl in the back of the truck, covered in blood and undressed. A symbol of Hamas's cruelty and depravity.
But today, on a day meant to celebrate her entrance into this world, let's remember Shani as Shani.
She was a young woman who loved nature. It grounded her and made her feel connected to the Earth and to her own spirit. Her social media was filled with images of herself in nature, but also of clouds.
You can tell that there were moments when she looked up in the sky and thought it was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen, and she wanted to share that sight with others.
She also adored music. She wrote that "Music is my happiness," and attended music festivals often.
To be in nature listening to music, I'm sure that experience made her so happy.
I am so sorry that she cannot experience that joy again.
May Shani's memory be a blessing.
One year since the deal that brought home 33 Israeli hostages alongside 5 Thai hostages.
Mothers of returned hostages stood beside Talik Gvili and joined her call:
“A mother never gives up.”
Together, they dedicated this call to Ran Gvili, the last hostage still in Gaza.
“We promised, until the last hostage. Ran is now the son of all of us. As a mother, I share Talik’s pain that Ran is the last one in captivity” said Niva, mother of captivity survivor Omer Wenkert.
These mothers know exactly what Talik is living through.
And they continue to stand with her, raising a mother’s cry for her son’s return.

Today is little Kfir Bibas’s birthday, the youngest Israeli hostage, who was murdered in Gaza by his captors.
It’s impossible not to think that if the world had stood with Iranians protesting in 2022 after Mahsa Amini’s death, Kfir might never have been kidnapped at nine months old and killed by Hamas in captivity.
The Tehran regime trained Hamas. It armed them. It funded them with billions of dollars to carry out October 7.
Without Iran, October 7 would not have happened.
The world must stand with Iranians protesting today, so that another October 7 never happens again.
The world let Mahsa Amini die in vain. Don’t let Kfir die for nothing. Learn from your mistakes, and do better this time.
"We are 834 days into this nightmare called October 7th. 834 days of fighting to bring Ran Gvili back to his family so that they can also begin to heal."
Merav Leshem Gonen, the mother of captivity survivor Romi Gonen who returned home a year ago, stood yesterday alongside the Gvili family at the Saturday night rally in Meitar:
"A stranger will not understand this. A stranger will never understand what it means to fight for a person you don't know if he is alive or not, because for us as the Jewish people it doesn't really matter, the soul is what matters and we need to bring each and every one back and we will not give up.
Rani was abducted right from where Romi was taken captive and right around the same time Romi was abducted. In my phone conversation with Romi, I heard the terrorists say "Here you go, take him, soldier" and I wonder if this call was about Rani. But what I know for sure is that Rani and other soldiers and the standby squads fought to keep my Romi alive and they succeeded. They succeeded and thanks to them my Romi is here."

Every time a synagogue is set on fire, I have to update this list. And it never gets easier.
Jackson, Mississippi - the city's sole Synagogue, Beth Israel, was set on fire during Shabbat.
Police & FBI quickly arrested a suspect after the fire department ruled it arson.
Sadly, two Torahs were destroyed and five were damaged in the flames. This is the same Synagogue the Ku Klux Klan bombed in 1967 due to the rabbi's support of Civil Rights.
Another Friday in which Rani is still being held in Gaza.
Today, a Shabbat reception was held in Hostages Square, led by Kibbutz Alumim - the kibbutz that Rani fiercely defended 826 days ago.
Alongside Rani's family, his childhood friends, hostages families and captivity survivors, a big crowd came to call the government not to move forward to the second stage until Rani returns home.

“And a new day will dawn for those who stand long.”
Rani’s family is waiting for his dawn,
the day he is brought home from Gaza
and laid to rest with dignity.
Rani earned his place in heaven.
We owe him his final resting place at his homeland.
Bring Rani home 🎗️

Shani Goren returned home in the children and women deal.
Arbel Yehoud and Yarden Bibas were released in the Witkoff deal, and Ariel Cunio came home as part of the agreement to end the war.
And despite the immense difficulty and unbearable pain, the four captivity survivors feel a deep obligation to continue acting for the return of Ran Gvili, a hero of Israel.
Rani went out to defend us.
Now it is our turn to fight for him.
Until the last hostage 🎗️
