Remittance tax now. There’s a tax for everything else in Australia why are we not taxing money from immigrants being sent to their relatives in Indian villages?
Remittances leaving Australia represent our 5th largest Export by value.
But instead of bringing in money for the benefit of Australians, we are sending it overseas for the benefit of foreigners.
Remittance Tax Now!
@jpt_trader Lol I think you’re missing the point. I think we are wildly overtaxed! I take issue with this seemingly being the only thing that ISN’T taxed!
@LucevDaniel Are there more voters who are citizens being overtaxed or more immigrants (for the time being) sending money back to their third world homes?
@lewisives5 Lol for starters remittances are completely different to investment capital being moved offshore and please don’t mistake me for a supporter of the current Liberal Party.
Every year, wealth earned on Australian soil is extracted and sent offshore through personal remittances.
It is a deliberate wealth extraction process that is hollowing out our nation.
It's time to tax remittances and stop the bleed.
Watch this space. More to come.

Something deeply late-Soviet about reacting to this awful story by focusing on "the horror of knife crime". Trapped in a mental box, entirely unable to process what has actually happened because it challenges his worldview.
