As Colorado rolls out SB25-003, the state's version of an "assault weapons" ban coupled with a complex and expensive permit-to-purchase scheme, there are already people insisting I stop calling it a gun ban.
They are wrong. It absolutely is a gun ban.
Nearly every firearm that accepts a detachable magazine is now banned from purchase in Colorado. A handful of historic long guns are exempt. Recoil-operated pistols are exempt. Bolt-action rifles are exempt. Everything else is banned unless the government gives you permission to buy one.
No matter what politicians call it, at the core of every permit-to-purchase scheme is a gun ban. The guns are banned first and foremost. And they stay banned for all but the most privileged.
They are banned for people who can't afford hundreds of dollars to purchase their rights back.
They are banned for people who can't take multiple days off work to satisfy government requirements.
They are banned for people whose local sheriff decides they shouldn't have a permit based on subjective criteria, personal bias, or arbitrary judgment.
They are banned for people with common names who get falsely flagged in a nationwide, name-based background check that must include both criminal and judicial records.
They are banned for elderly people and people with disabilities who can't easily travel.
They are banned for people who don't do well on written tests.
They are banned for people with learning disabilities.
They are banned for people who are deaf or hard of hearing if the required training or testing isn't reasonably accessible.
They are banned for people who are blind or have significant vision impairments if they can't complete the required process.
They are banned for people who don't speak English fluently if the required instruction or testing isn't available in their language.
They are banned for people who can't get into a required class because there aren't enough instructors or enough seats available.
They are banned for people who live hours from an approved trainer or testing site.
They are banned for single parents who can't find or afford a babysitter so they can sit through a required two-day class.
They are banned for people without reliable transportation.
They are banned for people whose paperwork gets lost, delayed, or buried in government bureaucracy.
They are banned for people who refuse to trade a constitutional right for a government permit.
Every new requirement creates another group of people who are denied the ability to exercise a constitutional right, and in most cases, those people are the most underprivileged in society.
Call it a permit. Call it licensing. Call it whatever you want.
It's still a gun ban.
@IvanRaiklin I am not interested in pulling apart our side only to leave it to the Dems. I live in Colorado so I’ve seen the Connie take over. Better figure out how to work as a team in accountability rather than some righteous indignation. We are not getting perfect.
Incredible: FBI today told a federal court it will take as long as 158 years to process 2 million hidden room lawfare and weaponization records (only 500 a month!)!
@RealAlexJones You have lost your way trying to be righteous. I’m sorry you feel like scorching the earth. You are just a late blooming never trumper. No one will ever be good enough.
No Phil you aren’t good. You have no idea what Colorado is going through. High cost, taxes, regulations, broken vehicles, stolen vehicles, crime, fraud, all of it. You are not talking about the real issues in this state. #PhilWeiser#Colorado#denver#Governor#reels#vote
RFK Jr: "They had to DESTROY Ivermectin & Hydroxychloroquine… because if they had acknowledged that it was effective for treating COVID, the whole $200 BILLION VACCINE enterprise would have collapsed."
Fulton County admitted that they had not 1, not 2, but 148 unsigned tabulator tapes, which were used to authenticate and verify the chain-of-custody of over 315,000 ballots from the 2020 election.
On top of that, over 1.7 MILLION original ballot images were missing from the Georgia 2020 Election, which are crucial to authenticate the ballots themselves and the total vote count.
- 5,026,684 ballots cast.
- Only 3,300,033 Original ballot images were received.
70 Georgia counties could NOT produce all of their original ballot images for the 2020 election.
36 other Georgia counties could not produce 100% of their original ballot images.
There is no way an accurate or legal certification or recount could have ever taken place. Biden's margin of "victory" in Georgia was only 11,779 votes.
They each deserve presidential medals of freedom for standing up and speaking out so honestly to protect our freedoms.

Trump picked Tulsi Gabbard to investigate election fraud.
A war inside the IC between CIA & ODNI began.
Tulsi was also blocked by WH advisors.
Experts who were hired into ODNI to verify key evidence were fired/harassed by CIA.
Tulsi asked to meet me. Her staff blocked it.
