Ok that sucked but I’ve moved on
Season not over. Makes Miami a must win now, but also gives us the opportunity to not be seeded 1-4 and get a home playoff game 👀
We’re still a very good team capable of winning the natty. On a day we sucked, it still came down to the last play
Don’t miss two wide-open receivers. Don’t turn a spike into a fumble. Don’t play atrocious defense in the first half.
Was the final play pass interference? Maybe. But eliminate those other mistakes, & the game never comes down to that call.
Learn from it. Grow from it. Move on.
Notre Dame tonight:
1&G at BYU 5: 0 pts
1&10 at BYU 18: 3 pts
1&10 at BYU 24: 3 pts
1st&10 at BYU14/1&G at BYU 5: 0 pts
in a game they lost by 4!
BYU v impressive defense when the field got short
This isn’t a season ender, they lost by 4 on the final play against a top 10 team. By no means is this it.
But guess what? Miami is must win now. If you lose…the same thing that happened last year is going to happen again.
If you wanna complaint about PI on the last snap….totally get it
But we left the conclusion in others hands
Supposed to “Leave No Doubt”
We did anything but that
3 thoughts:
1. BYU out coached ND all night. Hats off.
2. Bad calls/no-calls suck, but we can’t blame the game on them. Blame it on sloppy play and wasted opportunities.
3. Let’s not overreact. It’s far from the worst upset this week. As bad as they were, they’re still in it.
Agree with both points here, of course, but we simply cannot allow the refs to dictate the outcome. The field goals on short fields and the fumble/spike were the reason we lost tonight. #NDFB
Last year: We know BYU is 11-1, and they've beaten a top 15 team already as well, but that blowout loss to Texas Tech just is it. It means they can't hang. No CFP berth.
This year: We acknowledge several SEC teams already have blowout losses, but like, it's just different and totally acceptable!
A player like Stott with an elite glove can be a black hole in your lineup if your lineup is good. Pedro Feliz was Bryson Stott for this team in 2008. He batted 8th. We loved him. 1-7 hit the fuckin shit outta the ball.
Mattingly bringing Duran in the SEVENTH is a fireable offense. I get the middle relief sucks and there are injuries. Putting the closer in early and hoping he can get nine outs is stupidity, and it blew up in his face (Mattingly’s) big time. No hate to Jhoan.
“You might call me crazy, but in a game like that our guys fought till the end. I was actually encouraged at the end of that game. I’m being overly optimistic, but I was encouraged tonight.”
Don Mattingly after the Phillies 12-1 loss.
