@nocturna1sect @DevinKelly20 There is literally comic book canon of Joker punching out a Nazi. He was fine with it being an off-colour shtick, but when he realized it was sincere he turned on him. J hates PEOPLE, but he's not racist.
@Ubermacs @jackson_five13 @kindrapring @mossywrld@bioarv111@NickyD715@DiscussingFilm + but the trick is to punch up, not down.
The reason I got out of the scene to begin with is because too many comics go for the Howard Stern approach when we need more George Carlins. There's no cleverness, it's all sex and drugs and racism and it's unoriginal and not funny.
@ComicPerch @MermaidOysters Not only is he very much getting laid, he even has a canon child with Harley. Their actively trying to have a kid is referenced in multiple sources (the Last Laugh, Suicide Squad, Arkham games).
Mr. J is B's most popular villain. He has way too many fans to generalize like this.
@Ubermacs @jackson_five13 @kindrapring @mossywrld@bioarv111@NickyD715@DiscussingFilm + out on the heels of IT so closely that they replaced the IT posters with Joker posters practically overnight.
The timing is bad and insensitive. Which is why people aren't laughing. It's why Blumhouse was smart enough to take down their Hunt film.
Comedy is always golden, +
