The prestigious event, attended by top government functionaries of the Liberian government, was a celebration of service, leadership, and impact.

I sincerely appreciate the organizers for this recognition.

Peace is the foundation of progress. That is why today in Jalingo, we inaugurated the Taraba State Security Advisory Committee at the Banquet Hall of TY Danjuma House.

This committee has one clear mandate: to help us build a smarter, faster, and more responsive security system for Taraba.

I tasked members to prioritize intelligence-driven policing, strengthen early warning mechanisms, work closely with our communities, prevent conflicts before they start, and bridge the gap between government, security agencies, and citizens.

We are leaving no stone unturned in our commitment to make Taraba safe for residents, farmers, traders, students, and visitors alike.

A safe Taraba is a prosperous Taraba.

As part of our commitment to deepening inter-governmental cooperation and strengthening partnerships with key federal institutions, I paid a courtesy and familiarisation visit to the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, in Abuja.

The visit provided an opportunity to congratulate the Minister on his appointment and to further strengthen the cordial relationship between the Taraba State Government and the Federal Ministry of Finance.

We will continue to collaborate with the Ministry to advance programmes and policies that will drive economic development, attract investment, improve internally generated revenue, and enhance the wellbeing of the people of Taraba State.

Yesterday, the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum and the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council held a joint meeting focused on the pressing security challenges facing the region, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

After extensive deliberations with key security stakeholders, we resolved as follows:

Urgent Action Required:
The Forum declares that Northern Nigeria’s security crisis demands urgent, coordinated, and decisive action to prevent further collapse.

Support for State Police:
We acknowledge progress on the establishment of State Police and commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Assembly for initiating the constitutional process. With proper training, equipment, and support, State Police will be critical to addressing the region’s security challenges.

Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund:
We express confidence in the newly inaugurated Board of Trustees of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund. We urge them to serve with diligence, integrity, and independence.

We commend member states for committing ₦1 Billion monthly to the Fund and urge prompt fulfillment of all pledges.

We call on traditional rulers, civil society, the media, and citizens to support the Board in delivering on its mandate.

Addressing Root Causes:
The Forum resolves to tackle the root causes of insecurity: poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, and the high number of out-of-school children. Security operations must be matched with investment in education, agriculture, youth empowerment, skills development, and livelihoods.

Today, I received Major General Dangana Alu, Commandant of the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.

Our discussions were productive and forward-looking. I reaffirmed Taraba State Government’s commitment to partner with the Centre in deepening peacebuilding and leadership capacity development across our communities.

In Taraba, we are convinced that no meaningful development can happen without peace. That is why our resolve to secure our people, foster unity, and drive sustainable growth remains absolute.

We look forward to a strong, results-driven partnership with the Centre.

I have been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress [APC] Gubernatorial Primary Election by the Returning Officer. I secured 166,357 votes to defeat my closest rival, who polled 4,110 votes.

The contest is now over. The time has come for unity and collective action toward the continued development of our state.

I appreciate the leadership of our party at all levels for their support and confidence in our administration, as well as the people of Taraba for their continued trust and cooperation.

I reaffirm my commitment to providing leadership anchored on fairness, humility, and dedication to the welfare and progress of Taraba State.

Today, I participated in the governorship primary election held at the Hospital Ward polling unit in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. I am satisfied with the peaceful conduct of the people during the voting process.

Our administration remains committed to implementing programmes and policies that will directly improve the welfare and living conditions of the people of the state.

The excitement and enthusiasm displayed by the people reflected their satisfaction with the performance of our administration over the past months. I assure them of more dividends of democracy from our government.

I thank everyone who came out to vote for the continuity of the good work we have started. I remain committed to delivering more people-oriented projects, and the protection of lives and property will continue to be the primary responsibility of our government.

I was at the Taraba State Specialist Hospital today to inspect the ongoing reconstruction and remodeling of the facility.

This is a critical healthcare project being undertaken by our administration. I was taken around the project by the officer in charge, Dr. Femi Aweh, alongside the Acting Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Muhammad Mustapha. The contractors have been asked to increase their work rate.

We cannot afford to keep the hospital closed for an extended period, and I assured residents that medical services would resume immediately after the project is completed and delivered as scheduled.

We will continue to deliver on our promises — reworking Taraba State better than we met it.

Today, I embarked on an inspection tour of public secondary schools in Jalingo, as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure across the state.

During my on-site assessment of the Government Science Secondary School in Jalingo, I directed contractors to embark on the renovation and upgrade of critical facilities within the school, including the repair of classrooms, fencing of the school environment, construction of toilets, establishment of security outposts, provision of water sources, hostels, staff quarters, and laboratory facilities.

I also visited the Government Comprehensive Secondary School in Jalingo.

Our administration is committed to strengthening infrastructure and improving the standard of public education in Taraba State.

As we intensify preparations for the APC's forthcoming primary elections in Taraba State, I convened a critical stakeholders' meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Exco Chamber, TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, last night.

The meeting focused on deliberations over the mode of primary election to be adopted by the party, where I urged leaders to return to their constituencies, engage widely, and work toward producing consensus candidates for all elective positions within the next five days.

I emphasized the need for peaceful engagement among aspirants and that no political ambition should lead to division — assuring party stakeholders that concerns and matters arising from recent congresses were receiving due attention, and pending issues would be sorted amicably.

The meeting later proceeded into a closed-door session attended by members of the National and State Assemblies, the Minister of State for Regional Development, top party officials, and other critical stakeholders of the APC.

Today, I received members of the State and National Assemblies from Taraba State who came to formally present my nomination and expression of interest forms for a second term of office. This signifies strong support for my re-election bid in 2027.

I express my sheer gratitude for this gesture, which is a strong show of solidarity and trust, and I will not take it for granted.

This support will further motivate me to continue delivering on our administration's agenda for the people of Taraba State.

We are more than prepared to deliver more dividends of democracy to Tarabans in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the APC.

I attended the Mid-19th General Church Council meeting of the Mambilla Baptist Convention, Nigeria, MBCN, held in Gembu today.

As a guest speaker who also served as the Special Guest of Honour, I joined church leaders and members gathered for fellowship and deliberations on the progress and challenges facing the church.

My sermon was on the theme “Renewing the Mind for Divine Intervention,” drawing from Philippians 4:8.

There should be a renewed mindset toward leadership, family, government, and faith in God, as these are key in attracting divine mercy, progress, peace, and unity. The world is filled with negative influences; I urged believers to cultivate the habit of positive thinking.

The GCC meeting of the Mambilla Baptist Convention, Nigeria MBCN, is designed to strengthen unity among Church leaders while providing a platform to review achievements and address pressing concerns within the convention.

Today, I attended a thanksgiving Mass in honor of the late Mrs. Virginia Chima Gyoh, mother-in-law to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, in Makurdi, Benue State.

I joined well-meaning Nigerians in paying tribute to the deceased matriarch. The late Mrs. Gyoh was a devout Christian committed to her family and community.

May her soul rest with our Creator. Amen

The 2026 edition of the Nwonyo Traditional Fishing Festival in Ibi LGA, hosted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, @hanneymusawa .

This edition, held at the famous Lake Nwonyo, had in attendance the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell; Gov. @CalebMutfwang of Plateau State, amongst other local and international visitors.

Among the highlights were the colourful boat regatta – decorated canoes gliding across the lake featuring the rich traditions and customs of the people. The festival's fishing competition was a resounding success, with the largest catch weighing in at an impressive 55.6 kilograms, and the top three winners receiving life-changing prizes of ₦10 million, ₦3 million, and ₦2 million respectively.

Festivals are catalysts for development, cultural promotion, and community engagement, and efforts are underway to secure international recognition for the festival by UNESCO. We are restoring the good status and glory of our dear Taraba.

Taraba state’s safety and readiness for tourism and investment have paved the way for international visitors' interest.

I joined dignitaries at the Jukun Youth Day Cultural Celebration in Wukari today. The colourful event took place at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of the Jukuns, the Aku Uka.

The colourful procession drew participants from across the community as youths and cultural groups took to the streets dressed in beautifully crafted traditional Jukun attire.

Our administration is committed to advancing education, strengthening youth empowerment initiatives — and improving security to create an enabling environment for growth and prosperity.
