This year I do not come with celebration only
but with a prayer, a warning, and a blessing.
We step into 2026 not as spectators of time,
but as those who have been summoned.
A tide is turning.
The shadows rise
not to punish,
but to reveal what we have refused to see.
This is the year of shadow work.
The year we meet our wounds without flinching.
Where the past knocks at our door for reconciliation.
Where trauma asks to be composted into wisdom.
Where forgiveness becomes an act of liberation,
not forgetting.
The world trembles
old powers cling like ghosts,
economies shake,
nations burn with anger and confusion.
But beneath the noise,
I hear another sound:
the earth calling her children home.
To soil.
To seed.
To firelight.
To rivers that remember our names.
This is the year we lay down the armour of ego,
and pick up tools of regeneration.
The year we remember that nature is not “out there”
she is breath, blood, bone.
She is mother, teacher, mirror.
We are asked to walk gently.
To slow our speech.
To deepen our listening.
To become medicine where we once sought it.
We need a global movement for peace
not led by politicians,
but by ordinary hearts choosing unity over division,
presence over fear,
love over the illusion of separation.
Healing is no longer optional.
It is the doorway.
The threshold.
The work of generations flowing through us now.
We are being reshaped.
By loss.
By love.
By revelation.
And in these troubling and volatile times ahead,
may we not shrink.
May we not turn away.
May we be brave enough to face the darkness
until we discover it was carrying light.
My blessing for you this year:
May your roots go deeper than the storm.
May your heart remain open when tested.
May you find your tribe
not by blood, but by resonance.
May you return home to nature,
to spirit,
to truth.
And may we rise, all of us,
as midwives of a new humanity. 🙏🏾❤️
Merel, what a career, your energy, positivity, perseverance and courage will continue of course. Football will miss you, and whatever you choose to do next will be just as a great a success as your football career was. Go well on your way and thank you for everything
@CaolanRob@CaolanRob Your courage and energy are needed to keep up your good work and to keep us informed. A challenge for you: do not react to nonsense posts, do not allow anything to take your focus away from what matters. Thank you for all you do it truly matters.
@mitsurutakada Dear @mitsurutakada what an incredible 14 year journey as head coach of the Japenese Tennis federation. You are an expert in your field, one of the most dedicated, humble coaches I have had the joy of collaborating with. Thank you for everything you do and have done for tennis.

Enjoyed my interview with Lerato Mbele from @PowerFM on this international #NelsonMandelaDay
Mandela was more than a statesman and political leader. He was a towering personality of #Humility#Integrity and decisive in putting human rights and social justice of the most marginalised in the world at the centre of our political debates.
Whether is was about the illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan or HIV/AIDS or the plight of political prisoners such as Ken Saro- Wiwa who was hanged in Nigeria because he spoke and organized against the devastation of the Ogoni territories in Nigeria by the oil companies like Shell. Mandela always stood for the Truth.
His approach on reconciliation and forgiveness pushed us back from the precipice of an escalating racial civil war in the early 1990’s, especially after the assassination of comrade Chris Hani, a patriot loved by all of us who fought for #freedom.
Our country would be thriving if the political class was open to the #servantleadership that was at the core of the #MandelaMagic we all experienced in his presence and working with him. Mandela always sought radical colloboration and not political or material power and fame.
That’s the #Madiba I remember.

The strength of Alexey Navalny's wife Yulia, to put this out 3 days after his assassination is heart and soul wrenching. My full support to @YLatynina and her children for being modern day heroes and showing us the way, as their father did. 💟
