A historic win for Webster City softball Saturday, as the Lynx upset (4A) #1 Carlisle 4-2 at the Dave Hilton Classic
It was Webster City’s first win over the Wildcats since 1993, as the pitcher that day was Jenny Wirtz and the catcher was Linda Crystal.
In Saturday’s win, the winning pitcher was Jenny’s daughter: Jakaela Cherry and the catcher was Linda’s daughter: Amanda Lahr.
Think you have a better chance of being struck by lightning than seeing something like this happen more than once. Simply incredible.

I met a little girl who was told she'd never get out of a wheelchair. She's now on Urbandale's middle school track team. Amazing.

#Chiefs OL Nick Allegretti on Brock Purdy:
“I am absolutely bought into the fact that he is a great player… He seems to have a ton of confidence, which is the biggest thing you need as a quarterback. He doesn’t seem to get rattled a lot, and I was extremely impressed.
If you can go toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes, I’m impressed… He seems to be incredibly composed and at the end of the day he wins. You want a quarterback that wins. You don’t care if you throw for a hundred yards or three hundred yards, all you need to do as a quarterback, in my opinion, is win, and that’s all that Pat cares about, I think that’s all that Brock cares about… I’m excited to watch him throughout his career.”

Having his brother in his corner was a calming presence for Carson Doolittle (Webster City) He wins a nail biter and now stands on top of the podium as the class 2A 126 pound state champion.
