@Ofcimcold People talk about ninja skills like it's some sort of super human serums.
Honestly I don't know why they bother using baton and sword when clearly a bullet is enough for the job.
Keeping his baby hostage is not the problem, placing that baby across the street is.
And no, exposing Superman to the sun doesn't instantly heal him cause your movie make it very clear in the beginning.
Talk about a cartoon villain where they build an evil machine with a self destruct button right on it. That's what this movie is.
The point is this thing appears in the middle of the city without warning (this is stupid btw, not logical, but lets roll with it). People is like feet away from it, taking pictures when Superman first arrive, people still in nearby building, etc...
Literally in the scene just before this (green lantern poking its eye), you can see people still trying to run from the monster in the street where the car was. But cut to the tail swing, no one was there anymore and Superman have time to save a squirrel and prioritize it instead of caring for the people nearby. Talk about forcing it.
Dude can lift multi tons structures, hold together a split in half boat. But yes a group of " Super ninja" that maybe stronger than the average humans smack the shit out of him. And yes a bullet nearly taken him out.
But..but.."it was a Punisher who shot it". Tony Stark should have just invested in improving aim assist technology as in this universe, superhumans can die from bullets.
@Arg1on@RiotPhroxzon Fair, reading comprehension left the chat for a second
What I do with my money has a problem with you?
Bro is out here auditing my $8 spending habit like he's my financial advisor
Pathetic loser.
@Arg1on@RiotPhroxzon Help someone or insult them to feel good about not being able to purchase premium
You must live a perfect life without mistakes. God forbids you to see a man make a mistake and help him correct it. Rather make fun and insult him
woah why did you have to stress on the word " female "? are you implying it fail because it was a female lead movie?
Well I like a good woman lead movie like Kpop demon hunter. "But its a cartoon โ๏ธ๐ค" No it gave women the correct portrayal and representation. Show strength, emotion and love beautifully. Whereas James Gunn Supergirl is just over the place. I hate the writing most as it makes absolutely zero logical sense, even if it was in cartoon format.
When I say Supergirl fail so fans lose hope in the DCU is because of the direction style and storytelling style of Supergirl not that it was a woman movie. If I just hate just to hate i wouldn't have purchased a ticket and sat through new Superman and Supergirl movie. But that's the only 2 movie I have seen from this universe reboot and its not looking good.
is the next movie going to have Superman, Peacemaker, Lantern, Supergirl, and Creature Commandos in it? Cause what the purpose of making a standalone film when you're just rebooting your universe? Don't you want to make a story where all your recent reboot character get together in 1 big screen?
I don't get why you're dragging politics into this when this is a discussion about a movie. I'm not even in America dude.
I get that you want your version of Superman to be light hearted, familyfriendly. And that is no way wrong. You are entitled to your opinion as much as me. But all i see is this push that James Gunn approach to Superman is the correct portrayal and therefore the best version of Superman stuff and it just pissed me off and probably other movie enjoyers too.
Because the base of MCU was built on Iron Man, Captain America, Avengers, etc. The foundation and love that these movie has build and establish in the fan view of MCU is so strong that they always have hope for the universe.
MCU fan didn't hate the 20 recent Marvel movies? My god they fucking hate the living daylight out of it. Such a dishonor to the legacy left behind by the movie made prior to them. DCU is on the other hand, freshly reboot. Which is different.
MOS is definitely not a perfect film, far from it. However, what it did was give Superman a more mature approach to the all good and lovable character. It tells a story of finding what he wants to do, even with all his power, and what the right thing is that he must do. As every action carries consequences, like you said, his father refused to let Superman save him, as in his view, it would destroy his son's life due to the worldwide panic. On the other hand, Superman, who has all the power to save his dad in a heartbeat, struggles internally. Disobeying his dad's wisdom over fear that the military, government, or a panic public would imprison or dissect his son; Or save his Father.
I love that about his character. He is flawed. He hesitates when faced with great and difficult decisions. Whereas James Gunn kid friendly version maybe suitable for someone, but i think it doesn't do Superman justice. Such a complex character should deserve to be portrayed as such. But if you prefer a simple character that can punch hard and be anywhere at the right time then sure.
