55'-8" a new PR and good enough for 5th at State. Second all-time at Corner Canyon High School and a new Junior record. Now its time for football!!! @SuteraCasey@KjarEric
SPRING BALL RECAP - CORNER CANYON
I first want to thank coach Casey Sutera for trusting me to help their players get seen and allowing me to come by for practice. I have a ton of respect for the coaches in our communities that maximize opportunities for their student athletes.
HERE IS WHAT I SAW:
This is a going to be a good football team. Coach Sutera has seen success everywhere he’s been, and I don’t think that will stop at Corner Canyon. Will it look a little different stylistically than the Charger teams of the past? Yes. Will this program still give their guys an opportunity to compete at the highest level and continue to be the standard? I wouldn’t bet against it. I was in attendance with several college coaches which should give you an idea of the talent level of the roster. This will be a tough matchup for anyone on their schedule.
The session was organized and competitive. I have been impressed with most teams in this regard. I appreciate the fact that coaches are getting players accustomed to college style practices. I liked the leadership being shown by the upperclassmen and didn’t see any players giving poor effort.
One of the biggest things that stands out to me at Corner Canyon is the weight room culture. Every player is completely bought in and they WORK. This is important for several reasons, but it is a dynamic that translates to wins and championships. From what I’ve seen, there is not a team in the state doing more in that department.
WHO STOOD OUT?
Diesel Dart, 2027 - DB/ ATH
Diesel is a player that will undoubtedly prove he’s a P4 caliber football player on the field this season. He is moving well, he’s put on considerable muscle mass, and I firmly believe that he will establish himself as one of the elite prospects in the state. I would not be surprised if he ends up being a major contributor at multiple positions. I respect the fact that he puts in the work and doesn’t chase hype, he will prove it on the field. Watch for him to breakout in 2026.
Wyatt Warner, EDGE - 2027
@wyatt_warner55
Wyatt is a sleeper in the recruiting game right now, but you will know his name after this season. I was asked about him by multiple college coaches at the practice and all of them commented on his get off and skillset. The offseason work in the weight room and in training are showing up. Warner will be one of the best edge defenders in 6A and his recruitment will pick up quickly. He’s also a player that his teammates love to be around, keep your eye out for him.
Jackson West, DL/ OL - 2027
@JacksonJWest
Jackson is a freak athlete that has as much upside as any player I’ve seen. He will primarily play DL this year and I think he could end up being a 4 ⭐️ recruit by the end of the season. He’s got the size and athleticism to play P4 football and I look forward to seeing him continue to develop. He has very impressive numbers in the weight room as well, and is a prospect that should be on every college board. There are not too many players with hours potential, bet on that.
There were several more players who stood out, but these 3 were most impressive that session. As mentioned before, this is a good football team that should not be slept on. I enjoyed being over there and look forward to being back.
Appreciate the time felllas!
