New work stemming from an amazing collaboration with @addisonwebster0 and @AUGCsoup using a combination of rabies mapping and single cell sequencing to identify a GLP1R-expressing local input to AgRP cells that curbs appetite https://t.co/ijsfmhQFDz
Many Black scientists fall through the cracks during their postdoc; I almost did myself. Last month, 70+ @natblackpostdoc members met for the 1st time to strengthen our community.🙏🏾RT to help us reach new members/sponsors so we can continue to grow no matter the political climate
Many thanks to UConn OVPR, IBACS and participating Depts. for your support @UConnResearch and to our amazing @PNBUConn administrators Rene and Heather for helping to make this event possible!
Neuroscience at Storrs was so much fun and a great nucleating event for the neuroscience community here @UConn@UConnResearch. Dr. Dayu Lin @moccalin gave an inspiring keynote lecture, thank you for your visit!
Thrilled to host the amazing Dr. Dayu Lin @moccalin@nyulangone as keynote speaker for our 27th Annual Neuroscience at Storrs symposium, Tues, Oct. 22nd. Still time to register to attend, join us! Please see the link below for more info! https://t.co/Xu49IJmPRw
UConn graduate students and postdocs gave awesome datablitz talks and poster presentations and the career panel offered valuable insights on their career paths. Thank you for participating!
New preprint from @kuldeepshrivas3 looking at how BNST and lateral hypothalamic glutamatergic neurons coordinate reward seeking based on energy state.

I am excited to share our new paper published today @CellCellPress (link: https://t.co/6H65Nit1CI). This is one of my favorite studies and took ~7 years to complete. In early 2018, we started the project, aiming at understanding the neural plasticity of the Winner effect. 1/6
Excited to be attending #SfN24 this year in Chicago. Bean Lab has not 1 but... 4 posters this year!!
Come drop by, say hi and see what we've been up to. All posters are on Sunday, 10/6 from 8 am to 12 pm.
Very proud of our discovery: a heat-induced CNS plasticity mechanism that drives heat tolerance. I had hoped for it to come out 2 years ago, but I tried too hard with @nature and after several rounds of revisions they rejected it – see/judge yourself. https://t.co/c52ql2Ay2o
Very much enjoyed the #HypoGRC conference. Here our temperature session with Thomas Kilduff (chair), @FrontalCortes, @NatMachado_PhD, @AdamNels1 and @hrvatin_sinisa demonstrating huddling (to keep warm)
Inspired, tired, and full of lobster after the last day of #HypoGRC. Has been an amazing experience to spend almost a whole week at "Camp Hypothalamus" with fellow brain-homeostasis nerds. Now back to LA to integrate what I've learned!!
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my research with the hypothalamus community at #HypoGRC, it was a terrific meeting full of great science and friends!!! Thanks to the organizers @__Matt_Carter__@JacksonLabUConn @Profa_Correa
It’s a wrap for the #HypoGRC and GRS! It was an honor to chair the GRS alongside the amazing @yung_neuro! Thanks to the #HypoGRC chairs @__Matt_Carter__@JacksonLabUConn@Neurrriot @Profa_Correa for the support and to the talented trainees that attended and shared their work✨
A final day of outstanding talks and posters! And that's a wrap for the 2nd HypoGRC 2024! Thanks everyone for making this an amazing conference - see you in 2026!! #HypoGRC
