Both of these can be true:
1. We should provide students with distance learning experiences that allow them to learn during this crisis.
2. We can’t hold them accountable for the work because a large % of kids don’t have the resources to access it.
There is no easy answer.

This pandemic has already revealed that:
- schools are so much more than just schools.
- many people now realize how tough it is to be a teacher and that teachers are grossly underpaid.
- teachers are irreplaceable and essential to learning and education.

Shout out to all the teachers who've had just a few days to transform their entire syllabus into something that works online.
And shout out to all the teachers who've been accommodating & advocating for students who don't have access to the internet at home.
We appreciate yall.
I am really resisting the urge to check my email or act on anything for work! I’m staying busy by creating traditions with my family and doing some much needed sightseeing in #Philly after 13 years! How about you?! #schoolLeadership#Rest#Recharge#Renew

Teachers from all over @Stringtheoryedu learning about @eureka_math! Powerful PD to improve student outcomes! Thankful to be apart of such a great school!
“Mr. Arevalo, can I present a comic I made?”
As I looked at the clock, I knew I was short on time.
. . . But I could tell this meant something to him.
When he finished sharing, the class erupted in cheers.
I still remember his smile. ❤️
. . . It’s ok to be flexible.
I often have to see them in some of their toughest moments. I know the reading scores. I know the math data. I also know they deserve to laugh play and enjoy being just who they want to be! 💕 #JoyfulSchool#CulturallyRelevantLeading
This year we decided to #TrustTheProcess and go after rigorous reading + math classes! Our kids are being pushed to higher expectations and I’d love to end this quarter at @sixers game! So many of our kids are used to hearing the negative - we’re ready to win!
