Terry Francona said Chase Petty dealt with a blister issue in his last start. He bit it off in the first inning. Francona said the finger looks weird. No update beyond that.

On the fifth starter spot: We’re working through some things.

Singer, Lodolo, Burns this week.

Abbott on Friday or Saturday. TBD on the other spot.

The options for that spot: A Triple-A pitcher like Franco who isn’t built all the way up after pitching in the bullpen, a Triple-A starter (most of the guys there weren’t in big league camp, that rotation has dealt with injuries) or an outside addition via free agency or the waiver wire (Chris Paddack and Eric Lauer are available right now).
