Day 14- Summer break seems long past. Teachers and students are finding a rhythm and routine.

Student growth already beginning to emerge. The growth from day to day and week by week is what makes teaching great. Just teach!

Day 13- Just teach every day. Just try every day.

Our kids need work ethic, not "free days."

Day 12 (A)- Jordan starts off her season with a 2nd place finish. And Jake moves to 2-0, plus begins his PAT Kicking career 1 for 1.

Now, let's go OU!

Day 12- Football season. Jace's junior year begins with an Eagles victory.

Jordan opens cross-country with a meet at Okemah, and Jake has game 2 of his football season tomorrow. Let the good times roll.

Day 11- Great way to end September 1st. Destruction and reconstruction is great stress relief.

Day 10- Great teachers love to TEACH without distractions to maximize effectiveness. Cell phones can be that distraction.

Proud of the new districts beginning to restrict those distractions in OK. It works! This is our 10th year. Your teachers will appreciate it.

Day 9- Parent phone calls are so important. Delivering good news first makes it easier to deliver tough news later. Communicate!

Educator Mondays in August are for stomping out all the re-learned bad habits from summer break/weekends. That's why Labor Day is so important. It gives us the strength to make it through September.

Day 7- Extra-curricular activities begin to take off today with zero week football- football, cheer and band. Prayers for an entire year of safety in all activities for bus drivers, coaches, sponsors, and students. Late nights and early mornings.

Accident free through 22-23.

Day 6- IEP = Individualized Educational Program. I could argue the "P" might better represent a "Partnership" between the student, guardians and educational team.

Individualized Educational "Passes" (IEP'S) must stop. Just believe all kids can learn.

Day 5- Warner Middle School has the best staff. Collaborative teaching, problem solving, and the results are high performing students.

Day 4- Please vote today. My children and OK students deserve the best.

Day 3- Most all students don't get to choose their parents. Educators have the opportunity each day/ year to change a generation.

Keep goals and expectations high. The current generation can be greater than the last. We must believe.

Day- 2 Football Friday

Middle school students have an innate ability to wreck best made plans...

But like Toby Keith sang, "I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was!

Day 1 of 22-23- Jace is a junior, Jordan a sophomore, and Jake in 5th. Great first day!

Recycling someone else's quote: Jennifer and I have jobs because kids come to school, students don't come to school to give us jobs.
