Before I record any video, or even write any script, I need to test the product out myself first.
I can’t just write and perform on something I’m trying for the first time once cameras start rolling.
Whether it’s a protein bar, pair of shoes, or a shirt. Best believe I’m connecting with it beforehand.
Bc I tend to find out, a lot of times my favorite benefits differ from the angle the brand is used to testing. And if I recorded first and tested second I would never have known and been able to connect with that likeminded, yet underserved audience.
#note2self Everyone’s got an opinion on the best way to grow on social media.
Or the best way to make UGC vids.
Or the best chest excersizes to do.
But you go in there, you do the lifts yourself, and you find out works best for you.
I’m Jackson, a 24 year old UGC creator 👋
I chose to pursue UGC over an internship, 2 years ago as a senior in college. After graduating, I took the risk and went all in.
I've always been allergic to real jobs. Whether it was reselling sneakers, drop shipping, or flipping thrifted clothes, I've had a side hustle since I was like 10. So this wasn't anything new to me.
A few months into going full-time, my business partner and I started a UGC agency. We thought it would be easy and we'd make a ton of money. We quickly found out, it was not easy and we had no idea what we were doing. Most importantly, we didn't really have a "why."
Still, we grinded all day for over a year, connecting and working with some awesome creators, yet were barely pocketing any money ourselves. So at the start of 2026 I dove back into creating to make some income, regretting I even stopped in the first place.
A few weeks later my friend randomly asked me how I organized my UGC business, and if a CRM for UGC creators existed. I never thought about it, but realized I wasn't aware of anything like that.
It was in this moment my business partner and I combined forces with 2 of our buddies to start building what is now @ugcsuite .. but at this point it was only a mere idea.
Summer of 2026 was a grind. Starting this software, creating UGC content, and trying to build our agency. After months of watering each of the 3, it was obvious this was not sustainable and one had to go.
So in July of 2026, we decided it was time to cut our losses on the agency. In hindsight, it's easy to say we rushed into that business out of college. We completely cut off the momentum we had built creating and even hired some friends to help. And although I'd consider that business a failure, it taught me a ton invaluable lessons.
Lessons that I can now pour into my new business.
I now had way more freed up time and mental capacity to invest into my software, in which I actually did have "why," from personal experience.
We all start UGC for this dream life of freedom, yet in order to take it seriously like a real career, it requires even more than 40 hours a week.
The fact I'm playing the role of UGC creator, while building this tool, has been essential in crafting it around the way we all currently work. And after months of testing and refining we have a new version of our software on desktop that we're proud of and have gotten some really positive feedback about!
NOW, I'm currently I'm in the stage of marketing and distributing for my own business. All while still making UGC content for other brands.
And although I've told myself I've learned my lesson about stopping creating UGC, it feels different this time. And I'm now in the spot where it may be time to go all in on myself and my business.
It's crazy the way life's timing works out. And crazy the where taking risks, trusting your gut, and showing up consistently takes you.
Sorry to bored you with a summary of the last 2 years of my life. But figured I'd kinda reintroduce myself and my story. And also explain why the content I use to once post (UGC tips / tricks / examples) is not the content I really post anymore.
If you're a UGC Creator who has heard me talk about UGC Suite, and deal with feeling stress / disorganizied / too busy, trust me this will change your business and your life. And you know you're investing in a team that is working relentlessly to improve and implement things to only make this better.
May be time to part ways with my mag safe tripod..
I loved how convenient it was when I first got it
But the thing is too damn wobbly.
I’m waiting 45 seconds after hitting record for it to stop shaking
Back to the annoying clip on one I suppose 🤷♂️
