@danielwalbert Opening paragraph of Eugene Peterson’s “Working the Angles” (1987)

@danielwalbert I’m sure you’re getting many responses. But if I may, I’d recommend Kelly Kapic’s Embodied Hope. Knowing you, you’ll love it. It’s both theologically rich and pastorally wonderful.

@danielwalbert While most may see this as voluntary Sisyphean punishment, I see this as beautiful.

I love that you've found joy in labor and worship in work.

@PstrCHAMP This is true of Kalantzis. Anything he has his hands in I imagine would follow suit. I found his Caesar and the Lamb to read similarly. The scholarly foundation was so secure -- from which he challenged me quite well. I haven't read Blowers, however. Looks interesting to me!

[J.D. Woosley @JacksonWoosley]

@amber_bowen Oh, cool! I'll have to check it out.

It has finally come to the time of year for one of my favorite assignments! After studying morality and ethics (reading from Plato to MLK), we end our semester by watching Terrence Malick's A Hidden Life (2019).

Thanks for the inspiration for a fantastic assignment @amber_bowen

@wdavidotaylor Fascinating prompts! Once after introducing this book to the class, I figured we begin delving into the text. instead, we spent the rest of the day discussing the importance of the cover art. Amazing discussion of the stories we communicate in churches, cultures, and creations.

[J.D. Woosley @JacksonWoosley]

Happy Birthday @wdavidotaylor! Thankful for your life and ministry. Your work is purposeful, your words are meaningful, and your worship is beautiful. Today is a day we hope you feel extra loved and celebrated! HBD!

“I am not bound for any public place, but for ground of my own where I have planted vines and orchard trees, and in the heat of the day climbed up into the healing shadow of the woods.” — W.B.

Feels good to escape the “heat of the day” and be in the “healing shadow of the woods”

A prayer for Easter Sunday: to the One who would make dry bones lives and make streams appear in the wastelands of our lives. Christos Anesti!

@danielwalbert He is risen indeed!

@InnerStrife Does rejection ever get any easier? I’m sorry. The conferences will be the lesser for it!

I’m sorry, Sten. I speak from experience and firmly believe that your thoughts and ideas are needed and are life changing.

It is truly a thing of beauty to hold this one in my hands today. Spent a long time waiting on this one.

Grateful for the brilliant mind and pastoral heart of @wdavidotaylor! Excited to learn from him a bit more about what it means to be human.

@sandraglahn @visual_museum Following! 👍🏼

[J.D. Woosley @JacksonWoosley]

@robertjmonson YES! ☺️👏🏼👏🏼

[J.D. Woosley @JacksonWoosley]

Teaching on consequentialist ethics and we read a bit from Mill. After we read this opening line, I went on a long (and very important) tangent explaining blunders, chess, and how you never play f6.

You’d be so proud, @dannyhills33.

[J.D. Woosley @JacksonWoosley]

@robertjmonson CONGRATS!! Such a momentous occasion.

You’ve been so faithful. What an exciting time, and remember that we all are cheering you on! Celebrating with you! 👏🏼

The spiritual does not deconstruct the natural; it transfigures it.
