@BoysSchools ‘Building learning relationships through the use of technology’ Professional Learning by Prof. Alison Clark-Wilson. Technology as a human tool…investigating effects of IT on teacher-student interactions
@adelebrice Especially since we as educators enjoy the path our students take us on when we listen to their responses and ideas. It enables the teachers to enjoy the process too, which overrides any trepidation we may have about changing our teaching styles & the uncertainty this can bring.
@MarcWithersey@adelebrice It can be difficult for teachers to be flexible with their planning -when so many teachers thrive on being organised! If we can learn to trust our own professional knowledge & skills, student-led learning & inquiry can lead to growth & enthusiasm for learning, for students & staff
@BecSpink@adelebrice In the Library we use technology as a resource for students to explore their own reading interests, whilst at the same time teaching them important skills about search engines and research in order for them to learn how to find the information they need for their inquiry.
@MarcWithersey I agree. Assessment and reporting
deadlines can often cause pressure for staff to direct the learning and outcomes, rather than providing opportunities for student directed outcomes.
@PaulHamilton8 This is an interesting question! I am trying to imagine a classroom at my school where a teacher would behave in this way. The boys are so used to having a voice now. It would be disappointing to witness a classroom without student led discussions and inquiry.
@MagdaSzubanski Watching Kath and Kim - we always thought it was funny, but now we are laughing at nearly every line. We are a bit exhausted. You are all so talented, & so many shows have been influenced by you since. Brett in the netball skirt and Sharon weeping at every win may be my fave ep!
@CateMc3273 I loved reading this article. And I feel lucky to have heard you speak at the IBSC last year in QLD. I’m truly sorry to read about how difficult your past year has been.
