@bestoffhaunting I just rewatched Bly Manor, and there are two times where Hannah ends a monologue with “and the rest is-“ and then gets cut off.

I’ve always suspected that was a subtle reference to this scene/quote.

No right or wrong way, but for my money the best horror is when the horror itself is secondary to the characters/story.

That’s what makes all the @mikeflannigan series so special. They’d still be great without the scares.

But Hill House specifically is an absolute masterpiece.

@MaxInThePNW I agree with that. Maybe it’s smart to be honest up front so that people can make that choice beforehand.

I just feel it’s tough to ever grow your audience that way, if you’re only appealing to a specific niche audience.

But a third movie proves it must work. 🤷‍♂️
