Serious question to all the graduate schools telling students not to come to campus anymore bc of coronavirus but telling staff a different story. Are grad students “students” or “staff” today? (Since it changes based on what best suits the university that day) #AcademicChatter
How can your library ensure through actions (not empty words) that its community is safe and more important than easy and cowardly compliance with fascism?
Wow, I know I should have expected it to look incredibly different, but this is wild! I'm so glad we have repositories like Dome to help us see how things have changed over time! @mikeleach42#lis453fa19

@LauraLIS453 @mikeleach42 I finished that last week, I hope you enjoy it! I don't know if you got turned onto it from the Big Library Read like I did, but in case you didn't, I wanted to recommend checking out their website https://t.co/VBay1UZHrS
@LauraLIS453 @mikeleach42 We've talked about having some shelves on wheels for our big library renovation- though in some ways it seems cool, a number of us have a lot of concerns about accessibility issues (from the potential to block pathways to findability issues...)- I wonder how they deal with that!
I wish I had a photo of the last time she displayed book jackets she'd collected in the space below the display (we remove book jackets from all stacks items at Rotch), where she added the call numbers to them so people would know where to find them in the stacks #lis453fa19
One of my colleagues curates our new books display at #RotchLibrary, and always does a great job of choosing books with cool covers or interesting titles @mikeleach42#lis453fa19

Databases are a crucial aspect of any academic library (and other types, of course)- finding different ways to promote them to users can only help with their research! @mikeleach42#lis453fa19
Databases of the week - Accelerate your research by using xSearch, Funding Resources, and Chemical Safety search
Developed by @StanfordLibs & Deep Web Technologies, these databases are grouped by subject & multiple subjects can be searched at once.

Book clubs are a great way to promote individual titles, but also to bring users into the library to expose them to more materials they may be interested in! @mikeleach42#lis453fa19
Did you know the BPL hosts book clubs? They're available at several branches and cater to readers of all ages! Find a book club near you: https://t.co/VGGqiOGkCT.
Sometimes it's easy to forget that images are an important part of collections, too, but the BPL's gallery highlights some of these- and their digitization of the images helps make them more accessible to a larger population! @mikeleach42#lis453fa19
It's time for ROUND TWO of our series highlighting the reproductions of a range of objects from the library’s special collections on display in Gallery J @BPLBoston! Have you seen them? You can also find them and more online: https://t.co/4iSlSR6kAo, https://t.co/T896Oas3Jn.
This is a great example of sharing some new special collections material with the community, showing a cool sample and linking to more materials of potential interest @mikeleach42#lis453fa19

I really like this display- materials are spread out nicely so you can really look at each of them, and there are multiple copies of most books available, which can help patrons know it's okay to take one! @mikeleach42#lis453fa19
The #BehindTheBook videos from @hkslibrary are a really cool way to engage readers and promote books by authors from the Harvard Kennedy School- definitely an idea I'd like to keep in mind for future promotional work! @mikeleach42#lis453fa19
From @hkslibrary, a new Behind the Book video! @Harvard faculty @maya_sen and @matt_blackwell discuss their book (with Aditya Anchari), Deep Roots: How Slavery Still Shapes Southern Politics 🎥 https://t.co/5v5dkdOhuh
If you're in Hayden Library, check out our display in honor of #AdaLovelace. Includes books and films on the past, present & future of women in computing https://t.co/hnvjdK7MqH
