ANNOUNCEMENT:
After much prayer and discussion with my fiancée, Katilyn, my family, and close friends, I am proud to declare my intention to run on the Republican ballot for the Tennessee State House of Representatives, District 11. With Representative Jeremy Faison's retirement, I am stepping up to become, as President Teddy Roosevelt would say, the man who is actually in the arena, representing the best interests of the people of Cocke, Jefferson, and Hamblen counties.
As a native East Tennessean from the hills of Cocke County, I have called District 11 my home for nearly 30 years. I was born and raised in our mountains, and am committed to serving my homeplace.
Over the last decade, I have dedicated myself to public service as a teacher, coach, and Tennessee volunteer, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges facing our families, students, and working-class individuals in our district. It has been my privilege to teach and serve the youth of our region, and now I want to utilize that experience to advocate for them in the General Assembly.
As a grassroots Republican advocate, I have promoted the America First agenda across our nation by writing hundreds of nationally published opinion columns, knocking on doors to campaign for GOP candidates, and serving as the youngest Chairman of the Cocke County GOP in its history, delivering record Republican turnout during my 6-year tenure.
I pledge to fight for the citizens of District 11 to strengthen our public safety, reduce government regulation, and safeguard families and their values in our district.
I've been a loyal supporter of President Donald Trump since 2015, and I promise to advance his agenda, combat illegal immigration, and ensure stable education and workforce opportunities for all Tennesseans.
As a Christian, conservative, native East Tennessean, I feel as if there is no better time than the present to inject some much-needed Smoky Mountain Conservatism into our state's capital of Nashville.
My name is Kenny Cody, and I'm all in for this fight.
I will see y'all soon, and I look forward to hearing from each one of you.
God bless District 11, the state of Tennessee, and the United States of America.
