There’s never a “perfect” time to start.
Whatever you want to accomplish this year, you need to start. Now.
When I was in pharma sales, I was the least knowledgeable person on my team. I was newest to the industry by many years. Despite that, I was the number 1 salesperson in the USA.
I attribute much of that success to some great advice I got early on: don’t overthink it, just get up and go somewhere, anywhere, every day.
A lot of my peers spent inordinate sums of time plotting territory routes and building fancy packages and presentations. But, they saw fewer clients and spent less time getting down to brass tax when they did see them.
Ever forward.
The product will never be perfect. Your service line will never be robust enough. You’ll never have made enough contacts. There will not be a day when you wake up and say, “I’m done.”
So instead, wake up every day and day, “I’m beginning.”

There are people out there who would pay to live your worst day. Don’t forget to take a breath, widen your perspective and enjoy the present. Even the challenges 🫂
Four “idols” we often find ourselves chasing:
- Money
- Power
- Pleasure
- Prestige
They are bottomless wells. Rarely do we reach a point where we’ve gathered enough to be satisfied. Find your own “why,” your purpose, and find satisfaction in the pursuit, the infinite game.
