🚨 New research alert! 🚨 Critical race + tech / STS-affinity computer graphics 🖥️✨ Various forms and shapes of Black hair have often been sidelined in #CGI as an afterthought of the 'universal' hair model—until now. 🙅🏾‍♂️ @Yale @YaleCompsci's Graphics Lab, where I'm a postdoc, is changing the game! By centering racial minorities' experiences and representation, we can reframe which research problems are worth it at the center stage of the knowledge production. ✊🏾 The paper will be presented at #SIGGRAPH Asia 2024 this December!
