Thank you to Daniela Ferreira & @marioafvale for organising the 4th Digital Geographies Conference (https://t.co/SiIDVfdU1d) @ceg_igot. Great to engage w/ diverse international digital geogs research, & to share on 'Feminist digital geographies in flight: Everyday drone stories'
@yuripsycho100 I strongly suspect the 'correct' answer is meant to be trench warfare, because that so famously characterised WWI. Obviously that's not true because a) there was trench warfare in Europe, esp. along the Russian/Eastern front and b) I guess we are ignoring the war in the Pacific?
Thank you Adam Packer & @tess_osborne for the kind invitation to deliver this year’s @digital_RGS annual lecture at #RGS2025, to Debbie Hopkins for discussant reflections, & to all who joined us. I presented on Feminist digital geographies in flight: Diversifying drone stories⭐️
Ph.D. Candidate Lee Crandall won the Digital Geographies Specialty group award for Best Graduate Student Paper Award for their paper "Plotting cryptoeconomic imaginaries and counterplotting the network state." Congrats, Lee!
You have 5 more days to submit your application for a 3-year paid PhD position "Interfaces of Intelligence: How Generative AI Reshapes Knowledge, Media, and Interpretation". Particularly interesting for #AoIR2024 people (and their students)

@MoiraDonegan People might find it weird, but I like to gift succulents. Hard to kill, don't take up much space, limited allergy issues, they thrive in basically any environment (desk, window sill, kitchen, bathroom), and host will probably still have them 15 years later! And cheaper than wine

@BRKeogh I was showing this to my students this morning - a couple of great breakdowns of GG from 2014 are just "this post has been deleted" for 17 scrolls... Should have screenshotted.
@BRKeogh Of the many things to say about this, students who don't receive education in a well-established format that is considered best-practice across the huge majority of institutions will be disadvantaged if /when they go on to postgrad/further study - whether as students or teachers.
