@JordanJ22178651@thisisbenphelps@juddgreenstein pouring cold water on the hopes that .mus might become open source. It's almost as if they are holding the file format for ransom. https://t.co/tVNwAZQNxT
@thisisbenphelps@JordanJ22178651@juddgreenstein I worked at a classical publisher in the late 90s. costs of doing corrections with SCORE were so high they would just hire someone to do them with white out , correction tape and pen (he was amazing though).
@thisisbenphelps@JordanJ22178651@juddgreenstein but how long is a mac with current OS going to last? 10 years? and then? Is this going to be like those nuclear missile silos still running the computer from 1965?
@thisisbenphelps@JordanJ22178651@juddgreenstein true...although broadway strikes me as perhaps more invested because of the cyclical or ongoing nature of the shows...but i suppose when people need to revisit film scores for sequels or concerts they are gonna run into the same problems.
@JordanJ22178651@juddgreenstein pretty sure the producers of Hamilton, a $2 billion show, could buy finale, just for the purposes of keeping high school production parts updated.
@milesokazaki@darcyjamesargue When the alien archeologists visit the ruins of earth, they are going to be puzzled by all those billions of un-openable .mus files.
The Green Fog, the Vertigo remake with my original score for Kronos Quartet, is playing at the Paris Theater in a double feature with Vertigo on August 25. Directed by Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson & Galen Johnson, hasn't shown in NYC in 6 years. https://t.co/95sTxNYf80
