Starting with 12.3.0, the weather radar will project scans in 3D space, unlike previous versions of X-Plane. This means that with the tilt function, you can preview the entire shape of a cloud (in 2D cross-sections, of course!)
Coming 2025 ๐
@benfalconer@IOSTravel I certainly can't think of one! Not a bad Scillonian crossing by the looks of it...especially considering what it can be like! Love that place (and boat!). Hope you had a great time.

Snowy Durdle door in Dorset
One of my most memorable moments, capturing this very rare image. The fact that we never really get snow down south and especially at such an iconic tourist attraction such as Durdle Door!
@LONController It does look stunning but there are bigger flaws than just the server issues & bugs. It feels like the philosophy is different, and I'm sure they want to but it might take a while to cater to a core simmer. Stuff like the EFB means well, but doesn't really work at the moment.
It's getting a lot better. Not there yet, but I've had more success in the last few hours than the first couple of days. Bugs to be fixed, but the real quality of what's possible with MSFS 2024 is finally beginning to show through.
We are seeing significant improvements to the capacity and access issues and are planning to gradually increase capacity while we monitor the situation. We are feeling optimistic that players will be able to access the sim and take to the skies. We thank you for your ongoing patience and will provide another update on Friday. - Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator
@vaddykai@MSFSofficial Absolutely the future, and to be applauded in many ways, but in all the MSFS 2024 hype material I noted how many times the word 'ambitious' was used...decoded as 'in hindsight, it's simply not ready.' But I guess someone's gotta lead the way.
@tomwarren Yes - people are saying that MSFS 2020 had similar glitches - but the reality is that they were minor compared to the problems faced now. Many users can't even get in. I remember raising eyebrows at the preview event and it's a shame many people's concerns weren't dispelled.
@michaelfogg24 @MSFS_Support You're probably right...some degree of on-the-fly troubleshooting is normal in any game release and I'm sure they're working around the clock. It will be fixed, but as someone who works as part of the community, I do think his whole scenario makes a bit of a mockery of the hype.
Planned a full review of MSFS 2024 in the next PC Pilot. At this rate, we'll be hard pushed to deliver it. Like many I haven't got in yet. Either stuck on the menu or hovering over the airport waiting for the flight to load. Waiting for the next @MSFS_Support update....
Another issue of #PCPilot hits the shelves, and we take an in-depth look at the preview of #MSFS2024 thanks to @AsoboStudio and @MSFSofficial and the preview event in September. Plus the usual goodies when it comes to reviews of latest scenery and aircraft. On sale now!
Thinking about pre-ordering Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024?
All pre-orders of #MSFS2024 will receive the De Havilland Canada CL-415 to fly in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 as a pre-order bonus. ๐งโ๐โ๏ธ
The cat is out the bagโฆthe first #MicrosoftFlightSimulator2024 previews are here. I played it last week at the official preview event in the Grand Canyon. In short: massive, ambitious and gorgeous. We will have a full write-up plus interviews in the next issue of @PCPilotMag
Beluga F-GXLI from Saint Nazaire to Hamburg is squawking 7700, indicating a general emergency. The quick descent to 10,000 feet may indicate a cabin pressure issue.
