@Conradicous@elprez365@TheHultmanBeat That makes no sense when the guy I replied to just said the opposite. And no, he’s not getting traded. He’s pretty much untradeable at this point unless it’s for a young elite hitter with multiple years of control, which there really isn’t one. He’s going to be a top 20 prospect
@TheDestinAdams Pacers fans have this love affair with Nesmith. Don't get me wrong, he's great and a big part of the finals run. But he's a very average 3. Dybantsa gives you more size, athleticism, transition offense, and a build/athletic profile to dream on a good defender and a solid shooter
@SheedinATL He makes the most sense. Boozer would be fun long term but short term he'd be stuck on the bench for 2-3 years. Peterson is more a luxury than anything since we have Hali and Nembhard, just too much skill overlap + injury concern. Nesmith is solid but no match for Dybansta
@SergeantMartee@JJ__indy Like he literally did everything you said except be a good defender, which is pretty difficult when you have to carry a team. He still managed to average over a steal per game. He can be a solid enough defender to justify having the rest of his game in the lineup 30 MPG.
@SergeantMartee@JJ__indy Averaged almost 7 rebounds per game, averaged almost 4 assists while leading the nation in scoring. And he's a 6'9 freak athlete who will probably at least be a serviceable defender since he doesnt have to just score. But he won't start because he's... younger. Make it make sense
@jaketheyoshifan@tylercolvinfc He's also like a top 2-3% reliever when healthy. The upside was more than worth the risk, especially for $6 million. As long as he's back by the all star break who really cares. Yeah these games matter but I'd rather have 20-30 impactful innings in August-October than in May-June
@AlbrechtPride@DwallsterDrake He's got bricks for hands man. He's a great special teamer and makes a couple nice plays a year but he's not dynamic in any sort of way.
@MattGlenesk The 3-4 positions are just so much more important now. It's more than just having a big 5. You need multiple 6'6+ guys now on the wing. And its not just having two back to the basket bigs. Its having a 4 like Koa, Boozer, or Yaxel that can create and defend 3-5 as well as shoot
@PurdueBballGuy Yup. And be willing to build your team around bigger wings. That 4 position needs to be a bit more of an athlete like Koa, Yaxel, Boozer, etc. The straight up 2 back to the basket bigs, 3 guard lineup doesn't win titles anymore.
@Brett_A_Taylor I know he's aging somewhat gracefully, but I'm curious how they navigate Dansby going forward. He's 32 and has 3 years left on his deal after this year. A large portion of his value is in that glove, which could deteriorate as he ages. That cliff could come at any time
