But if he does even with 1hp he tanked it. Tanking is broad it can be 0-99% damage. Key is survival. Cause tanks job is survive hits

Resulting damage does not take away from the fact that he tanked that attack, even if just barely. If my tank/party eats an attack and survives 1hp. They did the job and tanked it.

Only criteria is that you survived the attack to live another day. The man had the right definition, you’re just choosing to move the goalposts so only ur shots hit

Naruto did tank it but was definitely phased by the attack. If you live to see another day, you tanked tha bish
