🚨Personal News 🚨
I will be leaving @Archant after many years of brilliant experiences following anything from non league football to #Euro2020 - it has been an amazing journey, but it is now for me to tackle a new challenge. Thanks to all the brilliant clubs I’ve covered!
We can confirm that Nathan Bertram-Cooper will be departing the club after 347 appearances.
Nathan signed from Isthmian Division 1 North side Romford in September 2015 and made his debut against Barkingside on 19th September as the Urchins ran out 5-1 winners. A strong, pacy centre back Nathan has been a key member of the Hornchurch defence which, since his arrival, has an unparalleled record for keeping clean sheets.
Nathan left the club in November 2019 signing for Hemel Hempstead Town but played for Hornchurch during their FA Trophy winning campaign on dual registration.
He returned to Hornchurch in January 2022, signing from Braintree Town. He then went onto win promotion twice, winning the Isthmian Premier Division followed by the National League South Promotion this summer.
In his 347 appearances for the club, he made 308 starts, scoring 22 goals and has 119 clean sheets to his name.
A true club legend.
Thank you for everything Coops.
RANSON RETURNS FOR 26/27
Ranson is back for 26/27. The winner of our Andy Martin Award for giving everything to this club - on the ice, in the room, and behind the scenes - Ranny returns as a key part of our identity. Experienced, relentless and fully committed to the Mos, we’re delighted to have him back.
From Ranson:
“I'm really pleased to be back. We had a fantastic group last season and a tight knit changing room, which is such a key ingredient for any successful team. We showed flashes of what we’re capable of, and with added depth in the squad, that should help us kick on even further. The Medway Bears game summed up what this club is all about - a big crowd, an incredible atmosphere and a strong performance the supporters could really get behind. It was a privilege to be part of that occasion and we’re aiming for many more games like that this season.”
From Head Coach Karl Lennon:
“Delighted to have Ranny back with us next season. He was a fundamental addition to the team last year. His experience was a huge value added and he went above and beyond when it came to sharing that with our line up. He’s someone that I can depend upon to play in multiple roles and his tenacity is infectious. Of course we were intent on continuing his time here so welcome back Ranny. 🐴”
A leader. A worker. A Mo.
Welcome back, Ranson!

When the trading of Quinn Hughes happens - and right now it seems inevitable - it will mark the lowest point in the franchise’s history. Giving up a generational talent in his prime can’t be viewed any other way.
